General Two Stroke Talk / Possible 125cc class at Nationals in 2012
« on: September 22, 2011, 08:11:23 AM »
It's still in the rumour stage, but this would be amazing.
The powers that be are considering a 125cc class, two Stroke only of course, at 4 of the Nationals next year, this would be for young pros 19 and under.  It would be a series within a series. If true this would bring credence to Suzuki selling 125 and 250 two strokes nex year. Three of the big 5 would be selling 2 strokes!!! This makes perfect sense.   Stay tuned, Keep your ears to the ground.

General Two Stroke Talk / Re: 2 Stroke National
« on: August 22, 2010, 03:53:44 PM »
   To 125mx,
I had no idea we were garnering international interest. I am flattered.
It's over a year away and anything is possible. Who's to say we can't get some bikes.
If there is a will, there is a way.

I have a friend here in Pa who can haul up to 24 dirt bikes. He has a double deck "stacker" coupled with a huge motorhome. He hauls bikes to wherever. People fly in, are picked up and taken to the riding area, and there ready to go our their own bikes and gear. I have been on three trips, they are amazing.  He goes to California, Colorado, Arizonia, Daytona, sturgis, basically anywhere. This may offer some possiblities for transportation to Sleepy. Check his website; www.tralridewith.us
He actually is a major Sponsor of Sleepy Hollow and has been around bikes,, well since birth.  He also owns a Honda dealership. We have a couple long time KTM dealers in the area. We  also have a Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki dealer 10 minutes from the track who is into MX and dirt in general.

A few words about the 1st annual two-stroke nationwide race.
My name is Jere Swarr , Promoter of Sleepy Hollow. As posted  we have started plans for a 2 stroke only event Sept. 2011 Hopefully the w/end of 17-18th
I envision a fun weekend for 2 stroke diehards. Some racing , both real and bench, NO FOURSTROKE motorcycles all weekend! Any 2 stroke from a 65 husky to an 2011 KTM     welcome. Race classes for everybody.Hopefully the smell of race gas and bean oil will linger in the Hollow all weekend, just like the Nationals in the 70's.  We are just getting started, it is over a year off, but reception has been good and we are excited. Personally I've been around MX since  72, Raced from '74-'78. Had a private track since '73 bought Sleepy Hollow in 2002. Yes,I wasn't born yesterday.
Track website is www.sleepymx.com. the track is Vintage freindly, with natural terrain and good dirt.  You can check videos on You Tube. just use "Sleepy Hollow Motocross" as a search phrase.    Thanks everybody for your interest. Stay Tuned
