General Two Stroke Talk / KDX 200 or a KTM 200
« on: April 08, 2012, 11:43:50 PM »
i would go for the ktm only because of design, kdx look kinda old compared to the katoom, even, they're both great bikes.

i have a friend who had a kdx200 and that bike has tons of power, amazing bottom end power..

each of them would be a good choice!

General Two Stroke Talk / 2001 CR 125 Engine options
« on: March 30, 2012, 02:50:22 AM »
for what i know, all the cases from 94 to 07 are the same and share the same bolt pattern, so it will bi a straight fit.

i own a 01 cr 125 and i broke the loeft side case because the chain broke up, and the engine case has the same part number for all those years.

i'd like to get old at least of a 94/97 gearbox to swap the 5speed to 6..

check this conversion http://metal-matrix.com/s/index4.html

you'll get a bike such competitive as a 90's cr with better handling, and you can find 94/97 tranny's pretty cheap on ebay, most of them in the states. to bad for me that they don't ship overseas..

the shifter is funny, imagine going from 2nd to 3rd gear with your clutch lever pointing to the ground.

the newer model from early 80's had better shift linkage than my model 50s, but both of them are a PITA to tune.

about breaking, forget it! you'll go straight from no brakes to locked rear wheel, imagine riding a tunned bike with stock hub brakes, scary!!

i can't see how a 4 stroke can be a "budget" bike!

oh, yeah, they do save some coins on brake pads!

they last longer than kenda millville.

my uncle use rinaldi on his kxf450 and he says they are ok about wear and grip.

get it!!!!

an exhaust shop can remove that ding with compressed air and a torch without opening a hole.

you can diy also, cover one side and fill it with water, then cover the other side and put it in the freezer, and repeat the process till the ding is out.

it's amazing how such a small engine can rev so fast and sound so good. they can be incredibly fast.

leagal road racing is pretty common in italy.

some of them pull hard!

Technical / rm125 swingarm differences?
« on: February 29, 2012, 02:51:49 PM »
measure the back of your engine to see if you have clearance to your new swingarm, then measure the frame internal space and compare to the swing arm width.

you'll be able to need some washers to clear the gap, or you can get someone to build new teflon/poly bushings to clear the gap if they don't match perfectly.

otherewise, why don't you try ebay for a used swingarm or keepitroostin.com? it will make the job easier and it's not that expensive.
