Well, if you mounted a dozen of them, you'd get the most maintenance-intensive 3hp bike ever created, I guess.  I'd just as soon us a chainsaw motor, and you could even keep the chain!

Is this Maico a 440 or only a 400?  Well in all the confusion, I forgot myself.
But considering this is a 1978 Magnum, the best-handling bike in the world, you have to ask yourself one question.
Do you feel lucky, punk?

I think it would be cool to mount one on a tooth brush

Margaritaville never looked so good! Hang on to the handlebars and throttle up the best blended beverages this side of Key West. Take your pick of either a 2-stroke, 43cc or 4-stroke, 23cc variable-speed gas engine to blend your favorite party drinks. The stainless steel pitcher detaches for easy pouring and cleanup. The 4-stroke models feature 36 in. telescoping legs that adjust for convenient use and compact storage, while the 2-stroke models have a fixed frame with a durable polyurethane coating.

this is a prime example of a 2-stroke Diesel low compression, due to the glow plug on the head

Super expensive to run since the fuel for those engines cost at minimum, $20 per gallon.

You can do better, say 37 of these

for a total of about 244ccm and some 140hp.
Now we are talking maintenance-intensive... ;)

Edit: Here's one in action:

Very cool... of course the idea stated in the OP was silly...

... but a two-stroke motor that screams to 30,000 rpm!! And in that model airplane flys at over 200 mph!! That is COOL!

Silly idea gets silly answer. ;)

I have raced such stuff (F3D) since 1995 or so, could not resist posting on that bait..

EDIT: It actually was about 30,000rpm stationary. Should have been about 33-34 krpm in flight, if set up correctly.

I would say you'd have an old Maico killer with a less intensive maintenance schedule-tee,hee.I really need to stop drinking and go to bed ::)
I'd rather a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.

Yes, you should.  When you get up we can talk about the longevity benefits of piston-port induction and steel clutch components.

Longevity yes, performance, nope.
