Even though Mike didn't qualify and it was full of 4 strokes it was a pretty good race and the finish was a total surprise

I have to ask, why do the commentators state that this year in particular the 250f's just can't make Larocco's leap? Has it changed in some way? Because i know that James Stewart was able to do it on his 125!
I'd rather be riding...

I think it has todo with the roughness of the track.

Glad to see that you guys made the race, John. I watch these races most weeks and all I cared about this race was how you guys did. It made tuning in a lot more exciting.

It's cool that a couple of guys and website are trying to change the sport.

The corner leading up to LaRocco's Leap is a rough and this year very soft sweeper... then it heads straight up!

While I was not there when it happened, Mike said that Pourcel cleared it on the second lap with the 250F. When he came around for the third lap he looked behind in the air on the tabletop before. Our estimation was that he was checking to see if he needed to do it again.

I just checked on Allisport.com and you can see Pourcel do it on the second lap. (As a funny aside, I was standing right behind the camera man at the start) http://www.allisports.com/motocross/archive

As for Stewart clearing it on the 125, everything must have been perfect... that is a far, far jump... if you miss that it will mean a world of hurt!
Life is short.

Smile while you still have teeth!
