OK, crank back, dropped in bearings and drew crank into right side case. assembled transmission and fitted left side case onto right side, bolted together and checked gear selection function. Cylinder sent to Powerseal USA and will assemble clutch and kick spindal etc next.

Looking good RacerX... nothing like tinkering in the workshop to help relieve the stress of life's issues.

With snow in the forecast, I build a snow plow attachment for the front of the quad.  I designed and cut all the metal, and had my son come down weld it together.  Problem is I was so tired from working on it most of the weekend, that when it snowed late Sunday night... I just said screw it... Mother Nature put it there and damn it she can take it away too...

This is the reason I'll buy a clapped out POS and rebuild it over the winter months.

Momma not knowing the price of a new bike said why don't you sell you bike and treat yourself to a new one, one that you don't have to work on...  I politely replied I'm not sure you understand the price tag on a new bike... but I'll look into it...  I may be selling a previous winter project a 91 KDX 200, the current project, 2002 Polaris Xplorer 400 (two stroke) and my mighty KTM 380...  (Notice a pattern with my toys... all asmokers).  Even with all of that at the price I'm asking, a new KTM 300 is still quite a few more $$$$.  But since she mentioned it...  I'll be happy to look into it...

Yes, yes you should :)  I'm enjoying this thread, watching all the projects come together  :D  Mine is coming along nicely, some delays because of snow and not getting parts delivered but it's now back on track!

Anxiously awaiting delivery of a "new" pipe!  Tracking said delivery today but tracking scans don't agree...we'll see!  If the pipe arrives it might get to see some dirt this weekend, couple local tracks are holding practice  ;D

Finishing up the winch install.  I utilized the steel bumper and made a bracket for the winch.  It tested my limited fab skills... but she's in, and now just need to run and tuck the wires.  I also put a used set of tires on the front and because it was a odd size I had to go new for the rear.

Just an update on the 2 stroke quad.  Just a reminder, Polaris Xployer 400, with piston size one over.  I’m struggling with jetting.  I’ve gone back to factory settings.  Idles great, but bogs when coming onto the main. If you feather the throttle you can work through the big and she’ll run well... it’s difficult to access the carb with the air filter boot in place.  If I pull the air filter, no bog, revs out with no issue, no bog, no hesitation.   Put the air filter back on, and she struggles.  I’m thinking it’s too lean with the air filter in place..  I’ve adjusted the clip position and have tried turning the air screw in and out with out much success.

One other thought...  this machine in oil injected.  When I put her back together, all I had was bel ray premix, not 2 stroke oil for oil injection systems.  I’m wondering if that could be the underlying cause...

Help me out guys, I’m stumped

I just realized that Nanci never updated this with the final result of her 125 build.

So here it is:

And the first ride:

Still needs some jetting work, but off to the the races with it this weekend.

Just an update... as I thought about the quad... when I got it, it had a leaking crank seal which I fixed.  Since I was still running the same jetting of course that would make it running rich.  So I took a chance and turned out the air screw to over four turns.. it was running better.  So I dropped the needle by raising the clip to the 2nd notch and set the air screw at 2 1/2 turns... better... turned it out to 3 1/4, even better.  Now it has just the slightest hint of a hesitation. I think I’m going to leave it for now as the motor need some time on it before I make any more adjustments.  I’m just happy to finally cracked the jetting issues.  It now does run pretty good... at least for a quad.
