Why not just get a good used one? Why spend a whole bunch of money on a brand new one, when you could get a good used 2-Stroke for about $2000. Heck, my dream bike would be a new KTM 150, but I can get close to the same kind of fun on my CR250 for a whole lot less. After I ride myself into shape and save a little bit then I'll get a 150. By then, I can probably find a good used one. Two strokes are so easy to update to good running condition, that an updated used one is just as good as a brand new one.

We could start a whole new thread as to why i don't want a "good used one'' I'm just after feedback on the '10 ktm 250sx before spending my hard earned as i've never owned a ktm before.

My bad. The KTM is the most updated 2-stroke. I would wait for the '11 if you're buying new.

I was told by my dealer to run the bike @ 60:1. That sounds really lean. Ive always run my bikes @40:1 using quality oil. Just want to know what every one else is running.

Will post pics soon...

My 09 manual says run 60:1 using only synthetic oil. I've run that for about 20 hours on my bike no problem.

You can run what you are comfortable with, but anything from 40 to 60:1 is the norm. KTM's are notorious for requiring the owner to rejet to get the bike to run clean.  Jump onto KTMtalk.com, they will help you get it jetted properly. Personally I run my 2000 300 EXC at 45:1.  Just jet it to your oil and ratio mix ratio, and get ready to have muscle cramps in your face from smiling so much...  ;D

Congratulations on the new bike, you won't be disappointed...  By the way, I am jealous...   >:D

AWESOME choice mx smoker!!! I run my 08 KTM-300xc 60 to 1 like the manual calls for and I use Motorex synthetic oil. It's a little pricey but @ a 60 to 1 ratio it's worth it to me to run the Motorex!Another cool thing about your 2010 KTM-250sx just in case you don't already know is that KTM has a 300cc. kit that you can buy for your SX.One of my riding friends put the 300 kit on his 250sx and his bike already had more than enough power but I have to tell ya that his bike has alot more torque now & it really pulls alot harder out of the turns as well as on the hill climbs we go up when he rides with me offroad! You definetly made the right choice going with the 2010 KTM-250sx! :D
