Are you allowed 300 ccs for the two stoke in the 450 class? Is that a thing?

nope, 250cc 2 stroke, or 450 and below 4 stroke

Lol! Just proves how blatantly unfair that is. All the advantages fall on the side of the thumper. Torque, Horsepower, powerband, everything is in favour of the thumper. Spineless wastes of air the AMA is.

Actually it is mxsports the promoter/davey coombs with that say. In the amateur stuff (under the AMA) it is 250=250, but the AMA sold off the rights to promoters for pro racing a few years back and davey runs the show.

He blames the MFG's...  (cough, choke, HONDA, cough)...  Remember not to long ago, KTM had to sign off on the issue of not putting a rider on a 250SX bike.  The other MFG's (Honda) put a lot of pressure on KTM to run 4 stroke only bikes.

I am relatively new here but I have sure noticed a common theme. Honda as a company sucks A*&

I think my newly completed CR125 will be up for sale shortly. I don't want any of my money tied to Honda.

As for 2 strokes this year racing, Awesome news. I think in Motocross especially, the rider is more important than the bike. Several times last year the top 250 riders posted faster times than 75% of the 450 riders.

Congrats TSM and good luck

rlaj1004 Honda was and always will be a 4 stroke company...  Back in the early 70's they were getting their arses handed to them by the 2 strokes.  >:-D They hated 2 strokes, but needed to be competitive, so the Honda Elsinore was born... Yes they made some great bikes, like your 125, but they still wanted to be a 4 stroke only company.  Doug Henry made the MX world stand on its ear with the 400 thumper, and Honda not only jumped on the bandwagon, they helped build the bandwagon.  They have a lot of influence / clout in the motosports world.  What Honda wants, they usually get.  BUT... the tide is turning...  more and more riders are realizing the excessive costs associated with racing a stroker.  More and more are realizing that racing a smokers is so much more fun.  For us mere mortals, its the fun factor that keeps me riding... I know I'll be in the back of the pack, but I'll have the biggest grin on my face...   8)

You've got a good bike mate, don't get rid of it! I've got a 2001 CR125. But I don't pay honda a cent in terms of maintenance. Well I think I bought a gasket off them once.

Can you prove this?

I dont mean this in an argumentative way, Id just like to read more about this if there are cold hard facts and quotes etc?
