I am a fan of big lazy motors in work horses.
My old landcruiser had the 4.0L 12HT motor in it ( No intercooler

)and had pretty much the same Hp & torque as my newer BT50 with a 3.0L common rail.
The difference was the landy did everything 1000rpm less then the mazda does.
I dove it between 1800-2300rpm everywhere, even when towing.
I miss that lugging engine but don't miss the handling.
The landy was easier on fuel as well.
