Rm 250 - 2004 Project / bike finished 2013-02-18

[/color]Hi!
Im Christopher from Sweden.
In october I bought a Suzuki RM 250 - 2004 it seemed like it was in a good condition, but it wasnt.
Went to a local track and drove 2 laps den overshot a jump and hit the ground hard and after that my gearbox was broken?!
Went back to the garage and start to tear it apart.
At first the plan was to just fix the gearbox and then drive it like a maniac.
But somehow it escalated quickly.

Started by stripping it down to the frame.

Got help by a guy who could blast the frame for me, this is the results.

Then he powder coated the frame, went halv matte black. Was really happy with the results.

Took the engine apart to see what was wrong. Checked the clutch at the same time, looked ok.

The bearings was in a really bad condition so changed them aswell.

Found the problem with my gearbox, ordered a new one. Notice this was in October 2012

At the same time as I ordered a new gear i ordered new crank and bearings. arrived after a month or so. Still no gear...

Put everything I had together, a new Hots Rods crank and new bearings.

Back to the frame, couldnt do anything more to the engine since my gear still havent showed up (January 2013)

Started assemble it. (notice my brothers dog in the background his name is Zombie) He loves to be in your lap when you try to put something together.

Renovated arm.

The rearframe put together. New bearings in everything.

Starts to look like a bike again, the fork is new renovated aswell.

Needed som motivation so I put it together to see how it will look like.

So right now I am waiting for my gear, STILL... 4 months still no gear. Carbonfibre framecover and a new saddle.
Im thinking of ordering Warp 9 rims but I cant make up my mind. its so much money just for bling bling in my case.

The gear has arrived, got tired of the guy that i ordered from the first time. Called another company and got it the next day.
So im hoping to get it going this weekend.
Picked up some other stuff at the same time, as usual you cant leave the shop with just one thing...

Also bought framecovers in carbon. Think the bike looks more factory with it.

Sorry for my bad English.

Make sure you loctite number 26 in the picture.
It holds the selector spring in place.
They come loose and the gear selector bounces between 2 gears and blows the gearbox. :(

Nice looking ride.

Thank you for the info. But that was not the problem this time, its to far from the gear that is broken.

Haha Zombie is awesome! Is Pug your dog? He needs a ski outfit because my garage is really cold in the winter.

Where did you order the gear from?
I ordered the gear from a friend that will take it home to me but Im getting pretty tired of waiting cause thats the only thing that is remaing to get the bike going. Ill give him one more week and then Ill call someone else. ( he gives me an awesome discount on everything I buy) But sometimes its not worth it.
