Official Sleepy Hollow media thread

ok so i had the awesome chance to go to the 2 stroke shootout this past weekend at sleepy hollow mx, and all i can say is WOW. It was a really cool event, i flew from texas thursday, charles graciously let me stay with him and his family over the weekend in their awesome trailer.

Met harold glissen (the badass one armed mx'er), matt wozney, Tom the owner of Dep, met the weindel's, joel adams, shane durham, broc peterson, Dag Boyeson (owner of boyeson), Paul Waslin (owner of AllBalls Racing) and jere swarr (sleepy's owner/operator/life blood) and many other amazing people.

I got a chance to run my gopro on a broc peterson throughout this races in 125A and 250A, ran it on Joel Adams for a few laps in practice, and paul waslin in the EVO class on his 1980 yamaha mx175

here's the first video of joel

i will post more as i get them uploaded

The whole weekend was amazing, the racing was really good, better than ive seen in a LONG time. it was really weird and awesome, to not hear a single 4 stroke the entire weekend. The owner said that even 4 stroke pitbikes weren't allowed, and that he would ask them to either put it up or leave the property. It really made me flashback to the good old days when i was little going to my first supercross race and smelling that wonderful premix in the stadium.

I rode the track a little during saturday's practice, it was really fun, the track was technical and challenging. But with me being on Todd Weindel's monster of a rm267, me having not ridden a 250 in a while, and me trying to get comfortable with a unfamiliar bike and track, racing was just out of the question for me sunday. Next year however, me and my family are planning on making the trip with bikes.

I had a blast, and i can't stress it enough, next year if you dont go to this race, you WILL BE MISSING OUT.

Paul Waslin on his 1980 mx175
he was riding i think top 3 or catching them at least until his chain derailed due to a loose rear axle, he had to pull off.

next moto he finishes pretty good

the 125A and 250A classes ran 20+2 laps each moto, then the other races ran 3-6 laps depending on the class, 2 motos

the practices were 10-15 but you had a good half a dozen practices or more, obviously some classes were combined for practice

and the race day, they started at like 8-9am and the last moto ended right as the sun was going down, definitely a long day, but it was so cool. next year the track owner said practices will be fri/sat, and some races will be sat and the the rest will be sunday, especially since there will be even more riders next year.

Ok thanks.  Can a 144 race in a 125 class ?  That,s how the dream race was.  I don,t think a 144 would have an advantage over a 125. Looks like a racers track, alot of turns, cool rythym sections. Not a horsepower track like glen helen, huge hills- who ever has the most hp wins.  I think that,s a good idea to have a fri-sunday event. Riders might sign up for more classes then.

well i would have to say that in regards to the recent a 250 two stroke should run with 250 four strokes debate, why therefore should it be ok for a 125 cheater bike ie. a 144 to race against a true 125 seems to be a contradiction is all.

X that cynario is really different. For the riders that bought or built 144,s. My bike has a 2mm ovr bore, to make it a true 125 it,s close to a 1,000 bucks.  I wouldn,t worry about it, but it sounds like a big bore 125. I,ve been protested on a bike with just a pipe, silencer, and ignition, no porting. Just because I got the holeshot. I turn 46 on 11-18, a rider shouldn,t worry about a beatup driver anyway. If the track says 125,s only in the 125 classes, I,m ok with that. But there,s quite a few 2mm to 4mm 125,s out there  prob 60 %. The track has 60 % less 125,s on the gate then. It doesn,t say anything about no 144,s in the flyer, it would suck to get 3rd on the start and finish 13th which I,d be happy with. Then get protested and not be allowed to race the 2nd moto.
