alright guys, i know its been a couple days but here's a little update

i got the rest of the bike tore down
here's the front wheel

with wheel off

forks off

got the 125 all tore down. Going to drop frame/suspension/hopefully swap wheels, tomorrow at SMS KTM !!! SO PUMPED TO GET THIS THING STARTED ON!!!

now, the teardown is all done, now its just cleaning up parts, start replacing hardware, and the best part, getting it all put back together

now, this is what i have planned, getting frame/triples powdered orange. I plan to swap SMS my wheels plus cash for brand new take-off's of a 2012, these wheels are silver with brand new everything, tires/sprockets/etc. If they're asking too much, sho
uld i have them powder the hubs orange too? or will that be too much orange? if they're asking too much i'll take apart wheels, get hubs orange, then buy spokes/rims/tires and build them myself.

What are your thoughts? is orange frame/triple/hubs too much orange? this bike will have orange plastic as well

never really liked orange before, buts the more i look at the factory ktm's the better they look :O

not sure what i'm going to do on the wheels yet, but yes the frame is going to be orange, the triples are going to stay black. If all goes well then i'll have silver rims/hubs.

just dropped the frame off today actually hopefully i'll get it back next week

If you think it looks nice you should ride it! Very eye opening experience!

I can't wait to see this 125SX completed, going to be very cool.

little update

just started cleaning some parts, got quite a bit done, just need to do exhaust, brake assemblies, and radiators

the swingarm was super dirty, the dirt was caked on the bottom of it, for some reason it has a little checkerboard pattern on the bottom that will collect dirt, took be quite a while to clean the swinger, but it turned out good i think.

frame just got in powdercoat today and should be done pretty soon

i'll update more when i start getting stuff back :)

hey guys!!! long time no post on here :D
i bet you think i just left this bike in a pile and haven't done anything with it! you're sorta right!! it was in a trash pile, but now its in a new parts pile

ok so...long story short, school and work have kept me from doing anything on this until today. I'm in my last semester for my bachelor's it has taken a ton of time and i haven't done anything until today on this.. excuses over, lets do this!!!

so here we go, i got my frame back, engine back, suspension, quite a few other little bits and pieces so the build commences! and it all went together quite well

frame powdercoating, silver wheels, and some oem hardware was right around 450 shipped to me

engine completely redone by michael S (cycle playground) in PA for around 750 shipped

got the engine in, stem bearings greased, suspension on, ignition setup

look ma, so linkage!!!
got suspension hooked up by FCR in ohio, got a nice deal, on all the works stuff besides coatings on the lower legs and shock shaft, works bladder in shock and gold valves in forks, as well as new springs setup for my weight....750 shipped :) it would've been less but he said everything in the shock was beat all to hell ( i saw this coming and was expecting the worst)

picked up a sweet bracket that allows the fit of the 13' front fender and # plate, just a mock up to see how it looked...SUCCESS looks badass and i cant wait till its finished

got suspension on, loc-tite everything that needed it, front wheel and bars on (anybody want to trade these bars for a set of mcgrath bend fat bars?) i like the straight bar feeling of the mcgrath bars, not a lot of sweep back.

Plans and parts needed:
complete rebuild of the brake assemblies, going to disassemble them and get them soda blasted to knock all the gunk off
for some reason since i let the rear axle sit, the axle block seized on the axle, i'm soaking it now so hopefully i wont have to buy a new one.
need new radiator hoses, didnt notice when i was taking it apart but noticed today that they were cracking
need quite a bit of new hardware (chain guide, shock, brake assemblies, lower fork lug bolts, footpeg pins, etc)
airbox is cracked so going to get probably orange airbox, with the orange sides, or i may just get it black
white rear fender
orange shrowds
pleated seat cover
cycra plastic skid plate
new chain
get exhaust blasted and paint it black, whole new exhaust mounting hardware
new grips, crossbar pad
graphics
shock sox front and rear, they have this really cool cover for the pds system which i'm going to get
mcgrath bend bars (will probably get the mcgrath bars when i bend these)

Unnecessary wants:
orange zeta steering stem nuts
orange clutch, brake covers
carbon fiber frame guards ( i cant find anything anywhere!!! and i dont know why, seems like they would've made cf parts for this thing)
i really want a scalvini carbon silencer, but my fmf is basically brand new, and if not the scalvini i want the ti shorty for it, but again my regular shorty is perfectly fine
i dont mind the push button and turn gas cap, but a threaded one would be nice too
it would be nice to get some bigger sharper pegs, but the stock ones are huge compared to the ones on the cr125 i had

so far everything has gone perfectly, none of the holes in the frame need to be made to fit the bolts. ie. sand down the pc coating, and all im doing now is the waiting game. i ordered the the majority of the parts today, and hopefully will have this thing up and running by the end of this coming week!

let me know what you think!!
