I hear you... The stupid 4 Stonk tanks on the SX line are the one glaring "C'mon guys...???" issue.

The two strokes with their low riding, compact engines should have gas tanks more like those on the Yamaha YZ's. Get the fuel down low with fuel tank lobes that make the most of the available space. Gas is heavy, carry it low...

The 4 Stonk line needs to carry the fuel way up high in those stupid flat floor tanks because a FOOPER engine is built like some kind of 6 layer wedding cake... Then when you add on the need for all it's fuel injection garbage.... you really need to carry the fuel up above the crossbar to have enough room...

Two strokes fortunately don't need a bunch of crutches, like Fuel injection... Our bikes with their 100% reliable gravity fed carbs have the power that all the 4 stonks are still trying to emulate with their computers, pumps, geeky ignition mapping, and the rest of that poop...

Since we don't need all that junk.... let's get the gas down low instead of having the whole headstay visible and a 10 inch hose from petcock to carb..... Why is the fuel up so high?

I think 4 stroke dirtbikes are a phase, kind of like "Glam Rock" in a way. You see the whole world subscribing to it, and you wonder how everyone could be choking down so much Kool Aid and Spam... Then 10 Years later, nothing's left but the timeless stuff from before and after..

Holy shit thats a beautiful machine.

They're back to the white plastics? Thats awesome. Just to clarify? Does this mean that its six days until the 2013's are released? Or am I on the completely wrong path?
I remember someone saying (and me agreeing) that they should go back to the white plastics.

International Six Day Enduro, the most famous offroad race there is, other than maybe the Baja 1000.

USed to be called the ISDT.  Internatinal Six Day Trial, called a "trial" because hardly anyone could even finish it.  But, when the bikes got better, and everyone started racing to the finish, they changed the T to an E.

I guess you could say, it is the Grand daddy of Erzburg.

I think the ISDT became the ISDE somewhere around 1980 to avoid confusion with the SSDT (Scottish Six Days Trial),which is a "true" six days trial using, you guessed it,trials bikes. ;D

someone entered the Erzburg this year on a Skorpa, and Skorpa only makes trials bikes.

I thought that trials bikes were banned from enduro's like Erzberg.?
You have seen the rock section called "Carl's Diner", That would be alot easier on a trials bike.

Seen it.

I stand corrected...  There was a Skorpa on the entry list.  I was under the impression that Skorpa only made trials bikes.  However, they have an "enduro" bike called the "T Ride" that is a 250F.  That has to be what entered Erzburg.

This is interesting... Skorpa is now using Ossa's DI 2 stroke engines in their trials bikes.  A few years ago, they were using Yamaha 250Fs exclusively.

Times are a changin, boys.
