Nah those things are just rediculous. Thats more power than my dads Holden Captiva makes. Insanity. Besides suicide theres no practical application for that sort of horsepower In my opinion

There is only so much power a man can take... a bored out 500? Really? Thats got to be absolutely monstrous.

Yea, the 550 KTM is supposed to trump the two Japanese bikes in brute power, according to MXA way back when.  I've never ridden KTM though myself.  How about a Maico 700?  100hp.

There is a guy on this website who has one.  Imagine what that feels like in 3rd on the pipe.  Slightly more bottom end than the space shuttle.

unfortunately they are peices of junk, a bloke on supermotoaus bought one new and has converted it to supermoto, he has had nothing but trouble for 2 years. mechanical and electrical issues. the ECU cant even time the spark properly it goes on the fritz.

Its sad that Iv never heard of a happy maico 700 customer, a real shame.

100hp?
factory is claiming 82 at the flywheel?

I've ridden a 550 and it is one of my favorite KTMs,fast yet very smooth. ;D

I'm surprised to hear about the Maico 700 as I thought the motor was based on well proven Zabel technology.

True, but I bet that the bike wouldn't hesitate to put an under experienced rider on his arse.

The old Maicos... Ahhh the old machines. But anyway its true what premixed said, theres no way you could use all that power on a track. In the dunes it would be sweet though you're right

facts have a habit of ruining a good fairytale

There is a member on here, "toby" something who is at around 90whp, lightly breathed on.  But I suppose, he is a liar, and it's a 48hp clapper, just like Brian Stewarts CR500.

unfortunately, when I lightly breathed on my bike, all I got was a misty patch on my tank...
