tm 300 2t
« on: May 11, 2012, 12:49:02 PM »
I have a tm 300 and a few people have asked me to say what its like in a thread as they are thinking about getting one, i 1st tried one at a tm tryout day and had a crf 250 at the time and the 1st things i noticed when i threw a leg over the bike was how tall and skinny it felt and the incredibly hard uncomfy seat  ;D and how easy it was to start hot or cold and it had an incredible amout of compression compared to the crf, when riding it was so much fun light agile and snappy power , pulled for ever in the mid range but was pretty flat up top (i realise this is because of the nature of a 300) it was a bit hard to get used to the no engine braking but the tm has great brakes so it was a bit easier to get used to i'd forgotton how fun 2 strokes were as i'd been riding  bore strokes for 4 years when i got back on the crf it felt like a heavy hard to start xr trail bike with no hit to it so i ended up getting a tm 300 i've had it for a couple of months and loving it :) level with 450's on hp and less weight, i race against 450's because in england 300 2ts are aloud in mx1 class at 1st the 450 riders said it was stupid getting a tm 300 but now they think its cheating :P it took 8 hours for the suspension to wear in untill then i was just fighting the bike into the corners but now the mazzochi's and tm factory shock are working really good, i've either gotton used to it or its got softer but the seat feels alright now :L i'me getting on great on it now and even set the lap reccord at my local track that was previously held by an international rider on a 450 bore stroke , the only things i don't like about the tm 300 2t is that they don't come with a manuel (but any info you need is on the tmuk website and theres a tm manuel you can print off and any part you need they can deliver next day) and it drinks about a gallon of fuel every 20 mins of riding :L other than than loving the bike its so much fun. sorry for writing alot.

I'd rather a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.

Did you have to rejet? mine was so fat from the factory it was crazy. I changed both jets and needle to get it right.
They're definitely a fast bike in the right hands.
