i sent him 25 bucks for qualifying in Daytona and this time i will do him 1 better and do 25 for qualifying and 25 for making the main

i hope that we can get a good amount round up for him

Qualifying IS making the "night show".  So many people show up in the morning during day light hours and don't make it into the top 40 duing time practice, let alone the 20 who don't make the main.

Nonetheless, I'll assume he will run the 144.  He is going to have a much, much harder time there, indoors on a groomed track.

My suggestion is to just watch for his name on the AMA timed practice website. He will probably go out with the C Lites group.

im kinda torn on the issue of him riding a 144. on one had if he does and he qualifies it simply proves that a 144 is more on an equal playing field that a 125 on the other hand it is cheating no matter how dumb the rules are. i for sure will be watching for him though

A 144cc is not on an even playing field, unless you sent it to the shop that did the Aprilia 125s for the GPs a few years back and let them cut/weld/epoxy the shit out of it.

i spoke with renner and he said the 144 he ran at daytona was almost as good as a stock 250f, which is NOTHING compared to even another privateer's 250f which is no doubt putting over 40hp

Yea, they are probably in the mid 40s or more.  Thats a tricky class, because it pays jack-shit, and its supposed to be the stepping-stone class, yet, the bikes are infinately more expensive because they require much much more motorwork that the 450 class where they make more than enough power stock.

Motocross is completely upside down and backwards now because of that damn displacement rule.  You have no idea who badly I would like to see a top tier rider on a CR500AF just grab ONE outdoor national uphill start with the 450s.  Just one time, that's all it would take to remind people who daddy is and where he's been.

That,s cool that he,s trying again. Does he have porting done on the athena 144 ? The 144 athena kit is barrely faster than,a true 125. The stock cylinder puched to 144 and ported is faster, than the 144 athena kit. HGS makes a  125 and a 144 pipe,I would think he,s giving up some hp with the pc pipe, even tho it,s good on a 125. If your going put a 144 on the gate, make it the best 144 it can be,and use  VP MR2 to make sure your using the best fuel available. Get a vortex ignition also. If the whoops are big,he has an advantage there, along with the corners and steep jump faces. Good Luck Renner.

He's already got some of my money, and I am looking into going to New Orleans.  I want to hear that crowd pop if he gets into a transfer position.

If he has Eric Gorr build his engine it will make the most power you can squeeze out and it will not blow up.

Renner is running a 125 for Orleans.

My group gave 250 for Daytona total. Doing the same for Orleans. 100 up front then a 150+ to make the heat. If he makes the main triple that!

I REALLY hope Charles can work something out. I would much rather see the TSM name attached to Renner than some randon donations. I will donate through Charles if that helps close the deal.

It would not be hard for a few people to donate a small amount each to Renner or another 2 stroke guy out there. A privateer who can squeek into a main loses money. It wouldnt take much to take one of those guys and put him on a 2 stroke and cover his expenses plus a little extra. It's a much better deal for a non team guy than running around unnoticed and losing money on a 250Fbomb.

Count me IN

2 strokes...
because 2 extra strokes and 35 extra pounds won't make you corner better.

Ohhh man, a true 125?  Just look for the blue speck going into turn 1 in the rear.

The good thing is though, since NO ONE rides YZ250Fs, he will be the only blue guy out there in that class.
