So i was in my local dealership the other day

and sitting on the floor was a new RM 250. i have been going to this dealer for nearly 2 years and have never seen a 2 stroke in there. i bought a couple things and was just looking over it and a salesman asked me if i was interested. i said i had the 07 and love it and it was good to see they were stocking 2 strokes again. we got talking for a while about the awesomeness of 2 strokes and then he came out and said "there is still a market for 2 strokes, i actually think they are making a comeback."

he was trying to get a sale out of me because he told me that suzuki werent making them any more and it was just leftover stock that they are trying to clear but quickly changed the subject when i questioned him by saying that i thought they were still being made in Brazil.

it was refreshing to see a dealership that only sells suzuki start stocking 2 strokes again. things are looking up for the 2 stroke, since i got back into riding nearly 2 years ago and i was the only 2 stroke at the track now there are a lot more out there. the last time i went riding there were quite a few  yamaha's and suzukis out and a few honda's and kawasaki's. if dealers start selling them and promoting them again there will be a big comeback

Chump I agree.  I just built a 2002 CR250 in March o 2011.  I could of bought a new bike for what I put into my CR.  I have been thinking about selling it to get another 450 because I can ride the four stroke faster.  But I started thinking.  Do I want to ride faster, or have more fun?

Two strokes are making a come back.  They are cheaper to maintain.  And more fun to ride.  So for majority of riders who don't race.  That is the perfect combo.....

Yeah, if you're going to race, the 2 stroke is the better bike hands down. Like they said, you don't have to fix it constantly when it ****s a valve or something, and you never get those wierd times where it just totally dies and won't start again becasuse it's piece o'crap fuel injection took a ****...

4 strokes are OK as play bikes and good for teaching little kids, wives, and girlfriends to ride because of the way a fooper has no intimidating steep curve to it's power. The kids and girls can learn to operate one the same way they can run the lawn tractor, with it's smooth predictable power. It's like playing with a wiffle ball or a nerf ball... You just have to watch that hour meter to make sure you're riding session doesn't go past 4.5 hours or so.

Plus, the 2 stroke is much lighter and faster with a good 2 stroke rider on board, so get one and go practice... You can ride all day long and practice on your 2 stroke without worrying about looking at some "Hour Meter" like you need with a piece o'crap Fooper. Then just load your bike up and go race on the weekend and help some 4 stokes cook a cam shaft like this guy did in NJ.

That cr250 is 2000 or 01,great rider, you can go back many years on a 2-st bike and be competive. My 1st ride last year,1st time riding my stock cr125 06,with just stiffer springs,icat, pc silencer,at a friday night track I never rode before on a sunday,with 100 riders at the track. The winner in 30a class friday night that was a special thripple cross event, we went at it back and forth, I would pass him in the corners,he would pass me on the straights. He,s a regular at the track also, I put a rad valve on since and the cr runs much better now. I know of alot of folks that bought 2-st., that where hard core 4-st. Then got into much better shape,and there having a blast riding again. When I rode my 04 cr125 ported,40mm carb,etc. everyone would say I love the way your bike sounds, how many 4-st riders get to here that. haha Sounded like a cat getting eletricuted or something.
