This is what it said on the Monster Energy Cup site.

The event will feature a one-class format, offering riders the option to choose the bike of their choice, including 250-450cc four strokes or 125cc and 250cc two strokes.

 I don't see any where it said any thing about 500cc 2 Strokes.

Both GuyB and Engine Ice Dave have confirmed it is open.  "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" worked well for the racists.

most of those guys on vital are just brainwashed 21 year old kids who have never even ridden a two stroke other than the cobra 50 their daddy bought them in 1998.

ignore them. they dont have a clue. 

nothing is going to change until the pros are the only ones left riding 4 strokes, and the factory teams cant afford to compete due to 17,000 dollar crankshafts and 6,000 dollar cylinder heads, while all the amateurs are riding 10 year old RM250s. THEN and only THEN will the bean counters in japan, and the brainwashed american enthusiasts catch on.

Damn, that sucks.
I can understand they were scared for an underdog rider showing up on a hybrid build 500cc.
But now, not even a 265, 285 or 300cc 2 stroke is allowed. . .  :-\

We have been updated, by GuyB. It is open CC, even though the whole PR dealio pulled a don't ask don't tell 125 and 250cc 2 stroke move.  

We are running a pool for the top 2 stroke main event placer, $50, and holeshot award 2 stroker $50.  Post if your in. Honor system, but you better pay, or don't come back  if you commit.

How are you awarding the funds?  Are you setting up a pay-pal we can put our deposit into?  Make it legit and I am in.  I am a broke college student so I will go $10 and $10.  Who else is in?  Lets get a grand or more together!

We don't know yet if anyone will even be riding, since it is last minute.  But if someone does, then we will either setup a paypal account or let the rider set one up, and we just send it directly to him.  It will be on an honor system if you pay or not. If someone does this, and you have posted $10 and $10, Then we will just expect that you will honor your amount. Since I started it, I will make sure it's legit, because I don't need people to go off blaming me for anything 2 stroke failing.  I want this to be an opportunity for the world to see that cc vs cc is fair, but the fast guys will still be on 4 strokes, cuz that is who pays them.

I've already mentioned that I'll put in $50 for the top 2-stroke finisher. A KTM 300 would be the best weapon for this (with a better looking front fender of course  :D).
