YZ 360 Aluminum Frame
« on: August 17, 2011, 03:41:54 AM »
I've been lurking here for a bit and wanted to introduce myself and my new toy.  It's a 2011 YZ250F with a 2 stroke motor and an Ohlins 360 kit.  Just picked it up today so I don't have any action shots but I do have these.  If anyone is interested I hope to add some info on how it runs and some pix of it after a good ride.

For anyone interested in this bike here is the company I got it from.  No I am not affiliated with them but I have to say that it was good to meet George and I have a really good feeling about this bike.

Hell yeah, i'm interested in a ride report. That things a beast.
I'd like to see some pics of the frame mods too, if possible.

Here are a couple more pictures that I have handy.  I'll get more when I take it out to the track this weekend and a closer shot of the motor/frame.  George did a nice job so the motor almost looks stock.  I have to admit the idea of having the power of the 360 in the newer YZ250F and the low weight is pretty intriguing.  I'm a 2 stroke guy and as much as people have tried to get me to buy a YZ450F I have kept refusing because I plan on riding 2 strokes until they are fashionable again.   :D

Like I mentioned in the first post it has the Ohlins 360 kit, Pro Circuit pipe, FMF silencer.  I threw a leg over it briefly today and I can say that it definitely has some torque and a smooth powerband.  I am looking forward to wringing it out this weekend and writing up about it.

Holy poop! That thing looks amazing, I wish I could ride that bike. The power must be insane! Definetly a four-stroke murderer, no doubt about it. Now if they only allowed that to 450 class...

I'm going to be sticking to mostly vet and open class so it isn't going to be a problem but I wish they would change the rules.

I am going to pick up a spare 250 cylinder so I can play with some 4-strokes  :)

That's what I'm talking about!!! I'll bet there wont be too many used YZs around after this beauty gets some exposure. Jealousy is rampant! Checked out the web site and there was no mention about the kit. Have fun, I know I would!!!
If you're afraid to break it, it's not worth having.

Very COOL bike, I didn,t know the 360 kit was made yet. They raced the 360 kit engines against the 500 2-st,s in the 500 class. So I,m sure it will pull hard.

The bike looks great but i am not a big fan of those plastics.  I would much rather have the regular yz250 graphics on there over the four stroke versions any day.  Also that back fender is way to freaking long.  Other than that please give us a report of how that bad boy handles on the track. ;D
