This should be seen as a lesson to all you young guys not to make the same mistakes we did-or else you'll regret it.Unfortunately, you will make them and will someday regret it.Thereafter, you'll sit in your rocking chair bitching about it to anyone who will listen-mostly other old buggers.  :(  :D

Regrets.... Well for starters quiting my job as a heavy equipment operator making $17hr+ to go to school at Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI). Now I have a lot of debt and make $10hr as a security guard.  >:(
crash796 I was a heavy equipment operator myself for 10 yrs. & right after I graduated from high school I went right to work on Interstate 68 which was completed in August 1991.I was in a local union as an apprentice so I was getting paid the low rate but still getting trained. After the breif 3.5 yrs. on 68 I got laid off for a couple months & then got a call from the union hall to go out to Cincinnati and work for the last company I worked for in Md. which was Guepel Construction & that job @ a power plant was said to last at least 5yrs. however the contract they had with the power plant ended & I only got 1yr. of work out of that job & they paid me $16.35 per hr. on that job so I was really hoping Guepel would get another 5yr. contract but they did'nt so back to Md. & then sent down to the Eastern shore to run a terex double barrel scraper in which I had to learn quick because I only ran a paddle pan prior to the terex! Then I was sent to WV to drive a old puke green end dump & a yr. or 2 later back to Md. to run a frontend loader @ another power plant just worked 2yrs. during the building phase of the power plant! I could'nt keep paying union dues & being on unemployment or working as a cook in a restaurant the rest of my life so I turned my union book in & took a crappy job @ Cintas Uniform Company got married, found out I had Multiple Sclerosis, got a divorce, had to go on disability for a while until I can go to some college to train in something I may be able to handle with MS! I still ride though 2 to 3 times a week unless the MS flares up & then I'm down for the count for 2 weeks or sometimes 3 months! I never know how long the flare up will last or how bad it will be the next time! :-\

Cripes, that sucks Maicoman.Health issues are even worse than regrets.I've got some issues myself presently and awaiting test results and specialist appointments and my best riding buddy is awaiting test results for his as well. The running joke amongst the two of us is which is going to beat the other to the grave. We've always been a little competitive that way. :D

I hope you're health issues turn out ok ford for real as well as your riding buddy to! I believe you just gotta keep on keepin' on until you drop or your time here runs out! I don't think I would want to be the one to win that competition between you & your buddy though!!! I'll stay away from that competition ford............Live long, ride hard and when it's your time to go may it be by means of rolling off of a sizzilin' hot 21yr old blonde woman into a bathtub of ice cold beer!!! (of your chice of course)... :)

Thanks maicoman, that would be a good way to go for sure.I'd be more likely to go from the wife somehow hastening the process along-unfortunately not the same way as the 21 yr old. :(
It's funny how you always sort of think you're going to go on forever isn't it? I guess if I can live long enough to see my daughter out bike, out fish and out hunt her future boyfriend/husband,I'll figure my work here is done. ;D

On a slightly less morbid subject, here's one for all of you.To the young guys, this song couldn't be more accurate-to the rest of the old buggers, feel free to cry in your beer along with me.After listening to this I feel like going out and getting hammered-anyone want to join me? :D

;D Great song & video ford! I've always loved that tune from "the boss"Bruce! I seem to always live in the past because I miss living in my "glory days" back in the early to mid 90's before the MS. I had a lot of great friends that I partied with back then & we are still friends @ least via facebook! They moved from Maryland to Seattle Washington to get thier rock band started! They are doing great & are always asking me to come out to visit & go to one of thier concerts. I'll make it out there one day hopefully! I get on them about coming back to Maryland to do a home town concert! The name of thier band is Windowpayne & they done a video for some scary horror movie & the vid is posted on thier site & it's a little creepy but I'll post the site sometime so you can check it out! It is a tad creepy but the band is awesome & they do have a lot more tunes that are much better! I'll post thier site up for you in a day or two ford. You take care & stay healthy bud.   ;)

That sounds pretty cool maicoman.I'll look forward to it.
I've kept in touch with some from the "glory days" It's kind of funny how it goes-the odd one you can start a conservation and seemingly pick up right where you left off 20+ yrs ago, others, after 5 minutes, you've got nothing to say. Many from those days are simply burnouts. It may be a good thing I left those :good old days" behind  :D

Cripes, that sounds like a good thing to keep clear of -legal or not. From experience, you never know how a drug will effect you,it's different for everyone and you never know when the effect may be fatal. It's better to stick with bikes  8)

Sorry I mispelled Windowpane on my last post but it's spelled right on this post. They named the band after a type of LSD or acid from the 60's or 70's.I never known those guys to be into hardcore drugs like that but I guess the name of thier band gets attention! lol, check them out when you get a chance they're a great band imo........ ;D
