Raw 1970s Maico/Vintage Footage
« on: November 04, 2010, 02:52:18 PM »
The Good Old Days, not a 4 stroke in sight (with the exception of the XR).  The footage is 1980s, but it looks like 1970s the way the film looks :)

Maico 2

Modest beginings start with a single blow of a horn, man.

Man, this reminds me of the ye olde super-8mm footage from my dad's youth.  It's amazing to listen to him and his brothers talk as the footage rolls.  I mean,  you see this really ancient 400 Husky, and then you hear them say, "Wow, that's my '71 400!  I saved up for a year and a half to buy that thing new off the showroom floor!"  It's also amazing to see them sailing through the air at 50 miles per hour, with 3 inches of suspension on a 250lb bike, with no helmet on!  I need to try and get some of that good old stuff onto YouTube.  Then you guys would be able to see the 1967 Kawasaki 120 that my dad learned to ride on!

Is this Maico a 440 or only a 400?  Well in all the confusion, I forgot myself.
But considering this is a 1978 Magnum, the best-handling bike in the world, you have to ask yourself one question.
Do you feel lucky, punk?
