2012 KX250F with a second fuel injector?
« on: June 04, 2011, 08:55:48 PM »
Has anyone read this article on MXA yet?  I was curious who has heard of this type of thing before because they say its the first on a "production bike"?  Its hard for me to picture how this would work.

I do like to read about new tech. updates but an "up stream" fuel injector?

OK, is that a "First Look" by MC mag people or a Kawasaki Ad?
Yamaha CT3, RT3, MX125, SC500, Toy Prius, Diesel F250 (it all balances out)

Good point!  I saw this on the MXA web and its not a real MXA first look.  Just a kawi write-up/ad.

I feel like this is a marketing thing because I am not sure the average rider is going to walk away and be amazed by the over-rev from the second injector.

I posted this on the site because at first look it seems to be an absurd way to kick up sales.  I know if i was 16 again I would gobling this up but it seems a bit extreme.

Yes, it's most probably just a Kawasaki press-release write up. . .

the yamaha r7 was sold with 2 banks of injectors, but with only one set being activated for 107 hp. the bike would then give 140 hp when the teams activated the second bank of injectors.

It has been used on teh factory bikes ever since FI came out. The 2012's do in fact have it. help with keeping teh fuel delivery even and fast all the way through the RPM's....... truly makes a huge difference

Sounds like this all new, even more complicated supercombobulator has been specially contstructed to only partially succeed in mimicking the performance of a normal carburetor....

It takes a special type of genius to take something efficient and simple and make it complicated and stupid.
I think 4 stroke dirtbikes are a phase, kind of like "Glam Rock" in a way. You see the whole world subscribing to it, and you wonder how everyone could be choking down so much Kool Aid and Spam... Then 10 Years later, nothing's left but the timeless stuff from before and after..
