2006 rm 125 stripped drain plug hole

help just picked up a used 06 suzuki rm 125 noticed oil spot under it cleaned the underside up then watched for the leak came around drain plug went to tighten it up and guess what? it was stripped not the bolt itself but the hole someone please tell me this can be fixed without buying a new case....thanks

I dont have to much experience with these kinds of problems but.. You might be able to tear down the motor and tap the hole and re thread it? Just my thoughts but I would wait for someone else to give you the go ahead with it.

Take it to a mechanic and get an insert fitted.
Check the bike over really well. Striped bungs are a sign someone did not know what they were doing. >:(

Yeah, its not TOO big of a deal.   An insert can be put in - a heli-coil... or the hole can likely be tapped to the next larger size, and that size bolt fitted.

Heli coils are a pain in the *ss,tap it to the next SAE course size.(If it is 10mm go to a 7/16 NC - should work) ;D

If a pair of 2" brass balls isn't working, I doubt that the 3" model will make much difference.
