I just sold an 03 YZ tank a few weeks ago, would be nice to have one now for a test fit.

aw crap
If a pair of 2" brass balls isn't working, I doubt that the 3" model will make much difference.

Jeeze Louis!!! :o
I was just looking on Ebay to see if there was a cheap one on there for test fitting, I hope you got at least $100 for that one.

Yeah, I usually sell my tanks for $50-75.

I think I may still have the shrouds from the 03

Whats the difference from 01-03?

The tank and shrouds changed in 02 along with the air box/side number plate.

Its a good question if all that stuff will fit on a 2001 frame. I dont see why not though....Id do some checking around.

Looks like it will work fine, you might just need to shim up the mounting bracket under the tab on the # plate.
Funny thing, I went down to the shop and they didn't have the 450 in stock, when I told the salesman about the project he laughed, and I proceeded to tell him I was a 2 stroke guy all the way, but he still tried talking me into trading my KX in on a new CRf450x, when I told him I'd be glad to ride for free it till it broke, he laughed, until I said "what's the big deal, it'll only be a month old when I bring it back, you should still be able to sell it for 2500 after you replace the motor", then he got a real serious look on his face. I followed that with, "when do you guys expect to get a YZ250 in stock?" "Oh, we have two in the crates in back, I thought you were a 2 stroke guy?" " I am. I was refering to the 2 stroke YZ250." "they don't make those anymore." I should have expected that from a guy wearing a Can Am shirt. ::)

I'm sure it would be pretty easy to get the front plate on.

My wife and kids were dragging me out the door to go eat, They didn't have a single 2 stroke in the whole place.
So the sales guy tries to tell me they weren't making 2 strokes anymore. And I told him that they're(Yamaha) still making the 85,125, 250, but Honda was no longer making them. He stated he was told by his boss that there were no more two strokes. So I told him he should  order up the yamahas and see how long they sit on the floor, if they even make it to the floor.

I was at our local Yamaha dealer the other day checking out the new R1's and asked the sales guy if he had a 250 2 stroke. He said they only ordered 2 and when they sold they didnt get any more. Why they didnt care to order anymore I dont know...

Did we get a front fender/numberplate yet???  :D
