When do you think the other Japanese manufacturers will stand up to Hondas influence?
How they can't see that they are toeing Hondas line, I do not know.
Most specifically, Yamaha - Honda's most consistent competitor in both racing and the market. Yamaha's 2t are a very big part of the reason Honda bailed from the road GPs in the late sixties - they took the battle of technologies right up to Honda.
We have the road racing GPs going to all 4ts ( mind you, Aprilia, by their outrageous prices for 'A', 'B" etc kit 250s and 125s, that you Have to have to be successful, share just as much guilt in this as Honda). Control 4t single 250s will be cheaper than the top level 125s, but control 125 or, 250 single 2ts would be even cheaper to run.
I know it probably will never happen
, but 250 singles, 500 twins and 1000cc 4s, of both 4t And 2t, would really be great racing, just as equivalency, at all levels of MX and Off Road should be the norm.
