Yes the springs do need replaced, cheap and easy fix.  When you take the springs off, I would also pull the pipe off, clean everything, and add some RTV hi-temp silicone sealer when reinstalling the pipe to ensure a air tight seal. The RTV hi-temp silicone can be purchased at your local auto parts dealer.
Thats what i was gonna mention, some silicone, seals and springs together with a good clean and she be all good..

I have respect for ya Coop as I do for every 2-stroke fan on this site but you just mentioned to Brapp that they were the wrong springs twice where as the Kiwi said to go get the proper ones from the dealer which I thought that was the most logical advice.

Hmm my bad. I assumed when you tell someone twice they have the wrong springs it's implied they should go get the correct ones... ;D  :P

guys, guys, guys. There is room for everyone's opinion lol.

Anyways, Pulled the pipe and silencer today and got them both completely oiless. gunna get the FMF pipe and o-ring kit as i heard its the best. About to go to walmart to get some clamps for the exhaust hose "as obviously i had to cut the old ones off :)" And as somebody mentioned before to get some RTV and I did. Picked some up at the AutoZone a few days ago. So everything is nice and clean and will be sealed perfect  ;D

This week is looking to be a good one! On wed my fmf pipe spring and o ring kit will be in along with the spring puller  ;)

And on thurs my new Jersey, Pants, Renthal Bar pads "For the Renthal Handle bars of course :)" My oil plug and some stickers i bought :)


Now for the questions. I figure RTV stuff shouldn't go where the pipe connects to the motor as it may be too hot and with  new springs and an o ring is shouldn't need it right? And i plan on using the RTV to get a solid seal where the pipe connects to to the silencer.

You can buy high temp rtv.
I just use abit of grease on the new o-rings to help it slide on and seal. High temp grease of course.
