RM 250 Crankshafts
« on: June 25, 2012, 01:46:00 PM »
Its my understanding that when Suzuki redesigned the RM 250 motor in 01, they added some weight to the crank in 03, are the 03 and up cranks interchangeable with the 01/02 models or are their other differences as well? I haven't really been able to get a clear answer on this yet. Does anybody know?

Thanks,
Rodd

Your best bet is to look up part numbers.

Already did that, they are different weights therefore different part numbers, I was thinking someone may know if the drive and stator shafts are the same and that the extra mass was simply added to the lobes of the crank.

look up the crank case part number, the flywheel part number and the primary part number.

if these all are the same then there is no reason why it shouldnt fit.

otherwise it would probably be far cheaper to get your current crank  modified!
