Merger, that was my guess, but since I had no proof, I kept it to myself....
The funny thing is that I thought the FIM just didn't care what anyone at the factories wanted and would hold steady, I guess they all threatened to pull out of the series altogether.... yeah right!
That's why Honda, the anti-tow-stroke company is fielding a 125cc two stroke in the 125 European Championships.
Truly if the Big 4 pulled out of racing altogether, the series on both sides of the Atlantic would be smaller than they are now, but would grow stronger quickly once the sanctioning bodies revised the rules to make it fair for all manufacturers to compete and allowed equal displacement for all machines.
My delusional fantasy is that racing would get much, much better if this were to happen!!

But there are too many people that have a vested interest in keeping the Big 4 happy, it's called $$$$$$$$
