I think they just had him record the narration in two minutes, then slowed down the tape (cassette tape, kids, not duct tape) so it would fill the eight minutes.

Is this Maico a 440 or only a 400?  Well in all the confusion, I forgot myself.
But considering this is a 1978 Magnum, the best-handling bike in the world, you have to ask yourself one question.

I heard somewhere that the first Uni Tracks were a falling rate rear suspension design rather then the correct rising rate system. You can see it in this promo video in that the Kaws are always bottomed out in the rear suspension.

On a different note, where are these bikes now? I like to collect the odd vintage /evo bike and have always wondered "Where are all the old KX's from the late 70's and early 80's?" I've been looking for a 1979 KX125 for literally decades and they don't seem to exist anymore. A few Hondas, some RMs and lots of YZs but no Kawasakis. I know the alumiferic cylinders were not long lived but this doesn't explain the vanished nature of these machines.

You're right, there don't seem to be any around.  In fact, I've always sort of thought there was a big shortage of KTMs in the Evo class at vintage races, but now that I think back on it, I've seen KTMs more often than Kawasakis!

Yeah that was awesome, thanks John!

When I was 14 I had a Kawasaki KE175 and a friend had a KDX175 just like those and I was envious how much faster and better suspended his bike was haha. I always said if I found one of those or a '78-81 KX125 basket case I would have to buy it restore  :D .

They say that fans in Belgium would lay on the track in front of other riders to help Joel Robert win.  I don't know how true that is, but knowing how intense people in that region can get when it comes to motorsports, I wouldn't be surprised if there were a few ambulances called in specifically for the Robert fans.
