I know that this is not a motox vid but the interesting thing in the vid is 'WHO' built the bike.
Imagine all that technoligy filtering down to dirt bikes. ;D

I love someone who thinks outside the square  :D

Ah, I remember seeing this video quite a while back.  I'd love to see that thing just opened up and banging gears.  Ooh that sound!  I should say, though, the expansion chambers riding along the rear fender line like that is kinda goofy-looking.

Is this Maico a 440 or only a 400?  Well in all the confusion, I forgot myself.
But considering this is a 1978 Magnum, the best-handling bike in the world, you have to ask yourself one question.
Do you feel lucky, punk?

I wonder why a conventional gearbox wasn't used in this bike? The Snowmobile based drive is not as efficient at transmitting power. You have to admire the workmanship in this special though, the bike is a work of art.

It had a conventional gearbox.

You may be able to find Alan Cathcarts test of it online somewhere.

The bike was made quite a few years ago.

I like the fact that the head of a F1 team is a 2 stroke fan. :D

Turns out it does have a gearbox with some kind of belt primary drive. Makes you wonder which way the powerplant is spinning?
