General Two Stroke Talk / Anyone recommend a good hardpack tyre combo?
« on: January 24, 2010, 02:33:30 AM »
I have just moved from a local sand track to serious hardpack. Not having much experience in hardpack, I'm looking for some advice on some good Hardpack hoops.
Anyone.

O.K. being an Aussie, I'd have to say;

1. Stephen Gall. (Australian version of Bob Hannah, took MX to the next level in the '70s/'80s
2. Damon Bradshaw.( Loved his attitude. Loved his "battles" with Matachivich, wonder what the AMA would have to say about the blatant take out moves of the '92 supercross series.)
3. Bad Brad Lackey. ( Too cool for school, still holds the title for the coolest helmet paint job- '82 flamejob)

JETZ, your not alone Mate, I have just given up racing Vintage after a 15 yr stint, I'm even one of the privilidged few to push a brand new Maico 490 out the dealer door.
I only started racing moderns again because of the kids race schedule.
G'Day Helmut.

General Two Stroke Talk / Re: Fuel injected 125 Husky 2 stroke ?
« on: January 19, 2010, 01:36:17 AM »
Just checked the Husky web site, they call it  "Electric Carburation System" that controls both air/fuel and oil /fuel mixture, doesn't sound like full fuel injection too me

General Two Stroke Talk / Re: What about Independent Dirt Bike tests??
« on: December 15, 2009, 04:15:43 AM »
Australasian Dirt Bike did such a test a few years ago, between a Mega 2 and a KTM 450 sx titled "How far have we come in 25 years"

The mega 2 didn't win much......except drags to the first turn.

The young hotshot factory KTM pilot was duly impressed with the Maico motor.......and duly depressed with the front brakes ;D

What a waste of paper.
The comparo was between a 125 yz and a 250f.
I love that mag, but it was a dumb article.

Are you familiar with that mag??

If so, can you tell us how old that article is??

Thanks.

Yep, as the song goes " I come from the land down under "

the article is only a few months old.
