Shouldn't the CR have a conventional fork (love to find an 86 thru 88 CR250)?
Looks '89 to me, first of USD forks

Ya broke it already? Jeez stu  ;D Isn't that under warranty? Ride the p!ss out of it and if it breaks use the warranty if its got one. If not, ride it hard anyways, its a new bike

KTM's don't come with a warranty....'cause they don't break..

Technical / Piston Diagnosis

That exhaust port looks like it's been a bit hot, I noticed the first two TM pistons didn't have lube holes drilled, could that have played a part in the cylinder lining demise?

Vintage Two Strokes / Maico Spider with type 55??

Most people are using flat slide Mikunis on the younger big bore Maico's, although the Bings make more peak HP, the Mikuni's are easier starters, tunable cheap and available parts.
I had a '84 500 and they had a beautiful motor, better than the '81, smooth torqey and cuddly ;)

The tm pistons look like running lean, and exhaust port getting hot, potential air leak.. does it have a center bridge on exhaust port ?
That CR piston looks like something has rattled around in there, bearing cage, steel reed ??
Buggered if I know.
I look forward to taking home the Chocolate frog prize for this one....

PV stopped working ?

I know this sounds left of center, but I had a CR125 do exactly as you are describing after a rebuild, got to midrange then just farted, coughed, sneezed, burped and backfired but would not rev out........turns out someone put a piston in backwards  :<img src=" title="Roll Eyes" class="smiley"> You could also check reeds are not chipped or cracked.

Looks like there are some parts missing from the all balls kit.
There should be two flat bearings that sit between the copper washer and the dust cover, the bits are No 2 in the parts fiche.

Your good! They are from a ktm. Or at least the rear and front fender. The shrouds might be too.
Yep shrouds as well, just cut off at the bottom.
