If you decide to go with a 250 I have a clean 04 RM250 that needs cases and a crank kit (have had the cylinder sleeved and a matching piston). Askin-g 500 for all of it. The Navy is shipping me off again so I wont have time to do anything wth it. if your interested call 618-240-0073. Good luck with your build
Whoah, where exactly in the US are you, I have a friend who wants a bike, but wants to put the engine together himself

Technical / Re: New cylinder, or new sleeve?

Thanks a bunch guys, so I have my linkage soaking in some wd-40, and hope to get the bearings out tomorrow.

Now I have run into another problem, how do you take the studs and exhaust valve off the cylinder? I am sending the cylinder off to Millennium technologies, and I want the cylinder repair to cost as little as possible, I have gotten most of the parts off, but the shaft is a bit of a mystery to me, does anyone have a model specific video for me?

Ok, so, if I were to buy a brand new cylinder from Honda, would it come ready to go? Like I wouldn't have to plate it? And Also, I have come to another problem, I was taking out my linkage bearings and swingarm bearings, and the old bearings are all rusted and completely seized in, any suggestions as to how I can get these old bearings out?

So, I was looking on ebay, and they have a new OEM cylinder for 310 bucks, but then I saw that they also have sleeve kits. What is all involved in a sleeve kit, is it the same as getting the dealer to replate your cylinder? Sorry, I am new to this. Anyway, my cylinder is worn, no way around that, what do you think is my best financial and quality option?

Number 2 for sure, I live in Canada so number 1 would not help me.

Vintage Two Strokes / Re: 86 CR 500
« on: February 15, 2011, 03:38:05 PM »
I think we're confusing a bike that is somewhat tuned down in potential (86 CR500) vs one that is maxed out (CRF or current 4-stroke). These 500 two strokes had tons of inherent performance potential. If these bikes were researched and modified to the hilt like the current 4-strokes are then you would have close to a 500GP bike on dirt. These bikes would far outperform the 4-strokes today. Its kind of funny to listen to someone try and argue that the 4-stroke is faster than the 2-stroke on this point.
I don't think he is trying to, I think he is saying that even though he rides a 450, and in his opinion it has more torque and a stronger powerband, he still enjoys riding his two strokes.

2009 ktm 150sx, that slow 02 cr 125 that im gonna need some help and suggestions from yall to make faster lol. And maybe a 99 yz250

150: GNC Warm up oak hill, Gnc international final oak hill, ponca city qualifiers and hopefully ponca city.
125: Most all of the local races blizzard series, sunbelt series, best of texas series
250: maybe some torn races mostly just for seat time (torn racing is just like worcs here in texas)
I can not stress this enough, jet your carb on it! It is pig rich. While my carb is not jetted properly, i can still get by because I am in the beginners class, and am saving for a rebuild, rather than jetting needles. Oh, and drilling a couple holes in the air box helps a bunch too, and it is free!

Have any jetting suggestions for texas elevation 640ft
Oh man, I am totally not the dude to ask, I would suggest looking around the site, there is an article on a budget build up of an 01 cr125, I just gotta find the link
