General Two Stroke Talk / Re: mx to enduro
« on: February 12, 2011, 11:10:21 AM »
You probably know this but, to be safe and keep any speed up in an endueo or harescramble you need to be in very good shape.  You will probably race for at least 2.5 hours non-stop in a harescramble and depending on your speed, in an enduro, you may get to rest in between sections.  It's very different in regard to mx.

Most mx guys adapt well to off-road,  not always the case switched around.

My goal is usually just to finish as I am old.

Just my .02.

Nice bike. ;D

I've heard about crank issues with the 167 but, I noticed it is a Maxpower stroker. So, that might solve the issue?

Great pics.

I too would like to have some details on the mods. as I know someone that needs some help with their CR.

Thanks and good luck smoking those pigs.

I would think with the extreme races the lighter 2st is the best weapon.  Although Knighter could drag a 4 turd up ledges, I think he would prefer the 2st.  (I've seen pictures of him dragging a 2st up some ledges in the Last Man Standing race in Texas).

Thanks, I'll have nightmares now.  I watched to 1:48 and had to stop.

RC even backed Fro up on the comment.  I think they are talking out their ass sometimes just to break the silence.

You can't tell me RC wouldn't have tried it on the 2 stroke.

Good vid.  I love the sound.

I have an '06 YZ125, why would I buy a new one?  Is there really any improvements?

Come on Yamaha, give us what we want!

Watson777,

As I'm sure you will but, please let us know when you're up and running the new buisness.  I'll be in the market for TSM graphics for my
YZ.

Best of success to you.

Riding Spots / Re: any one live in south georgia

I live in North Alabama, a good distance from south GA though.  If you're ever in my area though, please let me know.  We have a private mx track that is shaping up to be very fun.  We also have several off-road riding areas too.

Too bad about the "buddy" switching to a 4 turd.  I'm currently the only one in our gang riding a 2st.  I feel the tide turning though.

Good luck finding a new buddy. ;D

miedosoracing,

what do you mean by putting blocks in to give the cr85 more lowend?  The reason I ask is, my son is on a '03 cr85 and just hasn't adapted well to the mid to high range that you have to ride the bike in.  I've considered sending the cylinder to Eric Gorr for his mod to increase the low end but I just haven't yet.

Thanks in advance.

IMO, Sleeter is not the right guy.  He can't even compete on the 4st!

It takes a lot of talent to compete on a 2st that is already at a disadvantage when you consider the handicap.

Cedric would have been the better choice.

wintrader,  I agree, it is the rider.

My 16 yo daughter thought I was crazy after I almost rolled onto the floor laughing so much watching the first video.

That was funny!

I use Amsoil Dominator in my yz125 and my sons cr85 @ 40:1 and have had no problems.  Carbon buildup is minimal.
