There is no debating Honda quality... But, I think the most pro 2t thing you can do is buy new 2t's from the brands that make still make them.

This design is nothing new really.. Cagiva/Marzocchi had this in the mid-late 80's. I experimented with a '11 KX250f... very fast and I liked the way it handled. I thought the SFF fork was awesome and like the concept a lot. The '12 is similar in most aspects... was almost electric to me and therefore kind of boring... but very fast. Seem less from bottom to top and I could see the allure of these bikes. I was always worried about the TPS getting broke and  I had issues with starting. Not my cup of tea and it was sent on down the river... it ultimately made me commit to 2t's until the end of my riding days.

MotoMan who imports the TM's to the US is also carrying these pipes now... you can get a pipe/silencer combo for around 500 bux... pretty good IMO. Gonna make you puke tho when it gets dented....

I wonder the same thing Sachs... I was told by MI that I was the first one to directly ask what the deal was and that email was sent to me... Herr Kostler has to be aware of the controversy at this point I would think. Perhaps a direct email like the one I sent may "clear" things up? I sent one, so maybe he will respond.

I totally agree Ford... I brought this up and it was glossed over. They could have easily been called "MMX" or something like that... I don't think there would be any confusion and the like. Lots of hype and more than likely never going to come to fruition. If so, they will need lots of convincing on my end. Unfortunate fairy tale...

Glad you guys said it like it IS... that is really what I wanted to put it like. I lost any faith in MI a long time ago and laughed whenever a press released was issue, etc.... I feel the same and was only relaying the "latest"... My '01 is virtually the same as the 2012's... short of the USD fork. The Reiger shock is the same as the one on my '98 250. Herr Kostler is where I got mine via Mulders in Holland. I will always love Maico, but will probaly get a TM in 2012.

The word that I got after an email less than a month ago is that everything is in legal limbo/lawyers hands... MI is still trying to purchase the Maico name from the rightful owners in Holland.... contrary to most peoples beliefs, Kostler doesn't own the name(according to MI).... so, they are holding off any further news/ development/ etc until this is rectified.... I certainly wish they had thought of this BEFORE all the hype and other related "news". Real disappointing and I am not holding my breath.
