« on: June 18, 2011, 10:31:06 AM »
Will be getting the ol KX back together very soon but I have seemed to have misplaced one of the 14mm flanged nuts from the linkage. Is there anywhere else, say like autoparts, hardware stores I can pick this up at.  I've checked RMC. Motosport etc.  Prices range from $12  to $8. For A freakin nut.  Your help is appreciated.

Definietly sounds like a worth while enterprise.  I support the efforts fully if only from afar.   WE have alot of closet 2 stroke fans on the left coast but it seems the thunder for the pingers rings loudest out east.  Go figure.

Yeah maybe you can Andrew.  I pm'ed Charles regarding my direct contact with mxmayhemradio.com.  I know the owner/creator and he is a righteous moto dude trying really hard to make his way in the moto media world.  Seeing how TSm is always trying to get ahead I thought it wouldn't hurt to open up the lines of communication between the two.  Maybe some interviews and such and see where it goes from there.

Before you say whats in it for this guy let me assure you I have absolutely nothing to gain except helping people out.  OK maybe getting some more indepth moto coverage from many angles wouldn't hurt.  Simply put I'm suporting the ones who support the sport.  Be that of the 2 stroke of 4 stroke variety.

Kinda wordy but you get the drift.  Let me know.

Dan

I like the way they say "...the old 2-strokes." Like these bikes are already dinosaurs. My guess is the factories will bring them back after about 5 years.

I'm not a gloom and doomer but we were saying the same thing 5 years ago.  There's still hope and I have plenty to spare.  Sooner or later they have to pay attention to the 400lb gorrila in the room.

I run Iridium plugs.
Change it once a year.

But my bike is jetted properly. ;D

I hear ya Kiwi. I spent an entire ride day once just playing with the jets and couldn't get it not to easily fouls those iridium SOBs.  I went back to full factory jet specs. and it worked better but not at the price tag Myck mentioned.

I've never heard of anyone being a proud KX owner  :o ;)
It's funny you mentioned the iridium plugs.I've always stuck with my old faithful NGK's-if it works etc, etc. but I've always heard people rave about the iridiums. What didn't you like about them?
[/quot

The KX is the only bike in the garage at the moment. Check back next week. I may just be a proud ATK owner.   :P

I myself being the proud owner of an 02 KX250 can tell you this right off the bat. Dump those damn Iridium plugs.  Had nothing but problems with them no matter what my jetting or mix was.  I run BR8EGs with stock jetting and a 32 to 1 mix. Nary a problem.  Be wary of the crank seals. I blew mine while back and you definietly have to split the cases to repair them.
