obviously someone somewhere within Honda or even possibly someone from one of the MX/SX teams has leaked this information. Maybe Honda is waking up to realize the extreamly high costs of supplying there MX/SX teams with parts needed for rebuilds of there 4 T'S. For the price of $1,200-$1'500 just for a top end on a 4T'S I can do 6 top end jobs on my Honda CR125 and for the average person that want's to keep racing motocross the way the economy is now no way can he afford to race a 4 T every single weekend competativly and be able to afford paying that kind of money for the up keep of a 4 T.   And with KTM having 3 2T'S for 2012 I can visibly see Honda coming out with a brand new CR250 2T for 2014. I'm not a gambling man but if i were I think I would bet on Honda to do this. And if they do I would even venture to guess that in the not so far future there will also be either a brand new CR125 or a CR150 2T to follow. If any of you read Motocross Action Magazine they will be the first ones to say anything because they get all the new motocross bikes a year in advance before they are released to the public so they can do there testing on them. So keep your eyes and ears open and see if anything is said from them.

you would have to pull the carb off and take the reed cage off and take apart and check the reeds for breakage and or cracks aspecially around the edges/corners if any are detected the reeds need to be replaced

Scotty I looked at the test that Motocross Action Magazine did on your 05 Honda CR250 and they said going up one on the main jet made it burble on going down one made it ping so they left the stock 420 main in. Your clip possition on your needle should be 3rd from the top. Your air screw should be 2 turns out from all the way in with useing the stock pilot jet wich is a #40. Also try your pre-mix ratio at 40:1 instead of 32:1  that will make a big differance also. Your running too rich so you need to lean it out put the stock 420 main jet in try 1 smaller on the pilot and mix up your pre-mix at 40:1 Turn air screw all the way in and back it out 1/4 turn and start the engine start blipping the throttle and turn the air screw out 1/4 turn at a time till you get clean crisp throttle responce also put a number #8 spark plug in it.

mchale it's really up to what you love doing more street riding or dirt riding? either route you decide on your going to have some sort or money involved and the up keep of the bike. So it's really what is inside that you love doing more....myself I been racing motocross since 1976 and you couldn't tear me away from it it's in my blood and it's been the most fun i've ever had. And i'll keep doing it till I can't through that leg over the bike anymore. You can get a million replies to your question/advice but in the end it's all up to you.

Twest glad to see there is another Honda fan out there I have a 2002 Honda CR125 with PC works exhaust with the R304 long silencer and V-Force reeds reason I went with the long R304 was for top end over rev. V-Force says no jetting changes needed Pro Circuit said for my year CR125 to go to a leaner 390 main jet instead of the stock 400. But with doing some jetting trials with mine I've actually found that going 1 number smaller on the pilot jet works better and 1 1/2 turns out on the air screw. I'm also useing Golden Spectro pre-mix blend at 40:1 and a NGK Iridium BR8EIX spark plug bike runs great!

mxforever when you get new cylinders and pistons you have to match (A) piston with (A) cylinder and (B) piston with (B) cylinder they have to match as a pair when useing OEM parts. There are very slight differances between the (A) parts and the (B) parts. We can't tell with the naked eyes but there is a differance. Hope this helps you

WOW 2 cylinders something deffinately wrong there you need to find out whats going on causing your engine to blow. What pre-mix ratio are you useing? You could be running the engine way too lean either by way of in correct jetting or pre-mix itself is too lean. Check the jets in the carb and see if it's jetted correctly. Check your lower rod bearings make sure they are good.

Scotty your plug could very well be part of your problem that I last read about specially if it's been fouled before and cleaned. If you are doing alot of racing and play rideing I would replace your plug every 8 races/rides. And glad to see your going to go with 1 number smaller on your pilot jet. A new plug and smaller pilot jet you should be good to go.

Scotty how many races/rides do you have on the present spark plug in your CR250? your bike isn't going to be tempermental to only a 6 degree tempurature change.#1 It could very well be that your spark plug needs to be replaced #2 did you mix up a new batch of pre-mix and you got new gas? You could have got ahold of some bad gas too that does occationally happen.

Scotty I see you are still having some problems with your CR250 I would still try going 1 number smaller on the pilot jet there not that expensive. And something else I was wondering how old or how many times have you rode your bike with the spark plug you have in it now? Plugs for a 2t don't actually last a real long time maybe your plug is in need of being replaced. And how fresh is your pre-mix your useing?

Deffinately rideing a gear too high all the way around the track how dirty was the air filter? sounded like it coulda been totally covered with dirt and not allowing the engine to breath at all.
