At the front left of carb. Just in front of the vent hoses.
It has a black knob on it.

Okay i found the actual "choke" Knob. But that brings me to the second question. How does it work? when i pull up on it, it just springs back down??

Okay i know it sounds dumb. But where is the choke on a 2004 yz250? Im curious if there is one. The bike starts 1st kick regardless. but i know it must have a choke.

Hi Guys! Well I have been searching for a bike for the past couple months on craigslist and I finally found one!!! Let me just show you the bike before any further detail...

The Bike is a 2004 Yamaha YZ250. My mom Paid for it "It's a graduation present." We got the Bike for $1500 and it came with a tire stand "I've ordered an actual stand." some bel-ray oils. 2 new NGK spark plugs. A helmet and goggles "Even though my head is too big for it lol." He even threw in a ramp!

Mechanically the bike is Mint! Just fully rebuilt. It has TONS of compression. ripped a hole in my nike's kickin the sob over for a test ride. It has Renthal Handle Bars, Renthal Chain and Sprockets, FMF Gold Series Narly pipe "its been jetted", MSR clutch, He had the bike Rebuilt by Professionals. Fully rebuilt with a Wiseco top end. The tires are almost new. Oh and I can't forget EXCEL WHEELS ;D

And as you can Imagine the bike HAULS! :o Lets just say im glad i didnt eat anything before i test rode it in the field he had next to his house.  ;D

The only the thing the bike could use is New black grips. and number plate shrouds then its PERFECT!! oh and some fresh gas. its been sitting. Tell me what ya think!!!

Thanks for the info, I hear the RM tends to handle the best. But the YZ's Engine is just incredible. So i Think ive completely ruled out Honda and Kawasaki. Kawi smokers go for real cheap around here for some reason.

Agreed.A very good bike.A riding buddies young fella has one and it runs strong with no issues.Of course,he gives it all the proper care and feeding of a typical 18 yr old-I think he hosed it off once last year ::)

Haha well I'm not even 18 yet lol. But! I take care of my stuff. Im gunna have the money to buy my 1st 250 in August, and I want to make the right choice. I Hear when it comes to two stroke its either Suzuki or Yamaha.

General Two Stroke Talk / Title for a dirtbike?
« on: June 25, 2010, 07:31:48 PM »
Hi I live in Florida and am looking at buying a used 2002 YZ250 from a guy on craigslist. He says he has a title in hand. But i wasnt aware these things had them. So my question is... How is the title transferred over? Does he just sign it over to me? I wouldnt figure you would go to the DMV or something like that being as its a non-Licensed bike. Thanks for the info guys...

As for whoever said i can't get a decent bike for that price range i have to disagree. I don't know where you live but Im in florida. and for prices like $2500
you can get a brand new looking 05-06-07. I'm not looking for something that new anyways.

Thanks for the replies guys. I may wait till i get $2000 although i don't really need to. I have seen plenty of bikes 01-02 go for under $2000. Im just trying to save money as im going off to college next year and the bike may end up just sitting. As i said before. My buddy has an 06 RM250 and it looks super clean. But I i think i would prefer the Yami over the Suzuki. If not just for some color change ;D

General Two Stroke Talk / Another which bike question.

Howdy guys. Okay so I've just recently rode my buddies 06 rm250 and i loved it! And I like motocross, and i don't have a bike myself, so im wanting to get one of my own. I have already discussed which bike i want to get. I want a 250 smoker for sure. But I'm not sure which make i should go with for the year. I'm on a pretty tight budget "about $1500" and I'm lookin to get 250 two stroke within the years of 01-04. I have no personal preference of my own. But I'm leaning torwards the Yamaha as i hear they are pretty dominant in building a well rounded smoker. But I'm also considering KX, CR and RM. Thanks for your info in advance guys!! :D
