Technical / Clutch slipping.. need help
« on: September 02, 2012, 01:23:16 PM »
(1)I had a lot of plates lying around and used the thickest of them..
It should not matter since it worked in my engine..

(2)tried 3 different oils now, and whitout clutch slave..

(3)only one of the baskets had ridges same result

(4)haven`t checked the spacers compare to mine.

(5)As posted previous, his power valve seal was blown...
Thats the diffrence i can make out, but could the valve contaminate the oil?

I removed the clutch master sylinder..
to rule out that  but still was slipping..

One of the clutch assembly was from my own motor. worked before i put it away..
my friend borrowed mine to check if slipping stopped whit my clutch. In his motor..

I am on the 3rd can of oil and no coolant

1.  If your bike have reed valve i would check those.

2..  And if your petrol is old, you can kick til your blue in your face

3...  Also try removing your exhaust it it my be blocked

This

is what i remember form riding  tm ktm husky yz

YZ had good middle and top, suspension was very good..
-------------------------
Husky had sharper turning than the yz . Suspension was a bit stiffer. but power  was close middle but had a stronger top
---------------------------

KTM  this is a little mix since I only ridden 2011 250 and 125 03+..

But the power on the 125  motor was stronger in low end power compare to the yz
now for the 250 since its the one whit newer chassis...  Is very stable and track ruts very well, But may need the front forks tune
----------------
Tm
not yet ridden whit alu frame but.. the motor is strong in the middle and got a good pull in the top.
suspension depend on what you get... marzzochi is stiffer in my opininon than the ohlins

It does turns very stable. but in slow turns it still carves..

As said this is what i remember.

This is from personal opinion and what 2 stroke tuners have said..

Its that the crank case on 02+  had a too much crank volume, compare to the older models.

and that the power band that honda vent for whit the crank case motors.  resulting in a no bottom, no top end power curve

If motor is broken i would get an older engine  2001 and downwards
