Yeah, I saw that too. I'm trying to check around some other places and see if anyone has heard anything. This isn't the first of heard of Honda planning this. I didn't know Yamaha was either.

Are you serious?!!!!!!

Where did you hear this from?!

I don't think Husqvarna or TM have met the homologation rules.

Ive watched the first 2 episodes of redbull ex-fighters - its supposedly the biggest freestyle motocross competition in the world

anyway Nate Adams won it the last 2 years on a 2 stroke, the only 4 stroke rider was Levi Sherwood, who after his first season turned back up on a 2 stroke last year...

This year Nate decided to try for a 'record breaking' 3rd win and this year turned up on a 4 stroke (Honda - yes be afraid, be very afraid, hondas have not been involved in Xfighters since they stopped selling 2strokes - and watch the rest of this post to find out why)

First episode in Dubai, Adams wasnt very good and he didnt land his jumps very well he was all over the place, he was given 3rd overall.

Today I watched the Brazil stage (second event) Adams got to the final on his 4 stroke with Robbie Maddison and Maddison KILLED HIM - Madison was faultless in his run with some amazing tricks, Adams didnt do anything to match Maddison, just to make it CLEAR the comentator was saying as it happened that Adams didnt get his tricks out as they should have, I have it playing here on record - this is the comentator during Adams Final run 'oh but that weak cliffhanger flip he's still bent at the waist I dont know why he's having troubles maybe the switch to the 4 stroke has kind of changed the game for him a little bit' - 'here he takes off the arms but watch this, he checks the bars, that counts against him when you saw the stage dive from Maddison no bar check he just landed it - I dont really think Nate has executed the last couple of tricks that well but this one certainly huge with the sidewinder'

Does that sound like the commentary from the winner of the final????  noooo - but guess what he won. oh what a suprise. Why? oh apparently after all his mistakes (maddison did none) he pulled a few old school tricks in the last 30 seconds which clinched the win. BOLLOCKS! Nate Adams FAILED FAILED FAILED but he won the event.

Anyone who said about the conspiracy theries not being right, well guess what - we are watching a great example of a 2 stroke dominated event being wretchedly taken over by this 4 stroke CRAP - so I wanted to let you all know - (and its Honda doing it) - with Nate Adams in tow - I really hate that he did this.

Anyway this is 100% for real so I can hopefully find some youtube links to show you this abomenation so you can see for yourself!!!

Yep, it's just a matter of time until this sport is 4-stroke only. It amazes me that people, even on here, refuse to believe that there is not a force to eradicate the 2-stroke motorcycles in pro racing of any discipline. How crazy is it to believe that a powerful company like Honda would not protect it's interests and future sales by forcing a product on the most lucrative market? Of course, some super intelligent people on here would say, "Oh, I can't imagine a company like Honda doing anything like that? They are a solid company who only wants the best for US and European motorcycles sports and it's fans."  ???

Wow, Tharrell, that bike is totally sweet! If only these were allowed to race against the 450s.

At this point, any publicity for 2-strokes is good. 2-strokes have, and always will have hot-rod-sex-appeal.
4-strokes never will.

Yep, I'm sure they didn't want that kind of 2-stroke threat. It just shows that there is a battle and a large force that is scared of a 2-stroke revolution. They can't hold back the inevitable, though.

I would say the YZ has the best looking front fender. Because that is what is really important about a 125. Of course, the TM fender isn't too bad either.

How cool would it be to see a shootout that included these:

I mentioned that in another thread.
Yes it would be cool. ;D

Did you? Ha! Oh well, I guess we're on the same page. Funny  ;D

MXA did a report on the 2012 Husky lineup (http://www.motocrossactionmag.com/Main/News/FIRST-LOOK-2012-HUSQVARNA-MOTORCYCLES-14-DIFFERENT-8216.aspx). Included in this lineup is the CR125 and a WR125.

Each of these come with a 144cc bolt on kit included for free, with a cost of $5999 for the bike. While I love the 144s, it is good to see a return to the 125.

How cool would it be to see a shootout that included these:

Hmmm... 11 pages so far about something that was created with the stroke of a pen.

The real issue is that through marketing the average joe believes that it's fair for a four-stroke to be larger than a two-stroke. While at the same time claiming they are better. Not sure how that adds up, but it's what's causing the rift even between fellow two-strokers.

Here's something that will cause a bit of trouble. I love four-strokes!

There is a place for them. While at the races I watched some of the older vet guys and their four-strokes will probably last for 10 years or more.

The problem is that the rule change created years ago has confused old timers and bamboozled younger racers who grew up after the four stroke "revolution" began.

Yes the speeds of the races is higher. This is due to the "straightening" of the tracks. There are very few "difficult" sections or tight corners, everything is sweeping and banked. Sort of like NASCAR.

In a conversation with Rich Winkler (the guy that builds the AMA Supercross tracks) the indoor tracks have been modified in a huge way to accommodate the four-strokes.

Keep in mind one important factor when discussing the difference between the two-strokes and four-strokes, there is no fair comparison. Why? It's all a marketing driven.

All pro racing is designed to sell bikes. Plain and simple. Currently the bikes the manufacturers are trying to sell are four-strokes. The good news for us two-stroke fans, is that it's backfiring like a rusty old Model T. The warehouses are full of four-strokes the manufacturers can't give away.

The future will be different.... get out your crystal ball to see what it's going to look like!

Good points, for sure.

I believe Swap is referring to my reference of 2-strokes disappearing from pro MX and SX.

Well, I didn't state myself too well in trying to defend 2-strokes to several 4-stroke lovers whom everyone seems to adore now.

To clarify, 2 strokes have been edged out of Pro MX and SX, basically from misinformation and eradication by the OEMs (of course this has come from pressuring the AMA to allow unfair rules for the 2-stroke in AMA Pro Racing). This has caused the 2-stroke to virtually disappear from AMA Pro MX and SX, and the GP classes. This is very disturbing and there has been an ongoing effort to get them back in (petition, letters, phone calls, etc).

The reason for this eradication put forth by the 4-stroke guys in this thread, is that 4-strokes are a far better racing machine, and if anyone could get on one they would see how great it is. Furthermore, they said that they wish that 2-strokers would quit ramming 2-stroke verbage down their throats, and just open their minds to the wonder of the 4-stroke.

I have agreed that many people can go faster on a 450F or 250F than their AMA legal 2-stroke counterparts (250 and 125). But I went on to mention that this is not the issue at hand, and that even though the 2-stroke IMO is a viable alternative to a high tech, high dollar 4 stroke, efforts need to be made to further the 2-stroke cause so that what has happened in Pro MX and SX won't spill over into the other disciplines, like Off-Road racing (which is strong for now).
