General Two Stroke Talk / Re: GP of Italy LIVESTREAM

If you watch the crash on the last lap of the practice yesterday, I'm almost positive the 1st place guy ran in the back of a 2 stroke. I swear I see a big pipe on the lapper that got hit.

General Two Stroke Talk / Re: So now I hate Stewart even more.

Sorry guys, but according to Stewart everyone except the top 5 guys in the sport should all but quit racing. Straight from his mouth.  He would still beat everyone except POSSIBLY the top 5 guys on a factory YZ250.  Seriously, I can't believe all these posts I keep seeing.  He did very well on the KX250 against all the 450F's.  If my memory is correct he was sometimes 20+ seconds ahead of #3 rider.  Now, the top 5 guys, maybe, they have really stepped it up.  But If Shorty is getting 6thish, on a bike that is probably almost identical as the 250 2 stroke in power output. Then James would do just fine on the 250 2 stroke, factory that is.

Well, it could mean they are getting ready to unveil something completely new?  If Ping said they are talking 2013, and I trust him more than most in that whole group. I'd say something is about to go down.  If they are telling NZ that they aren't shipping 08's anymore. Makes me believe that a "new" RM is about to be rolled out.  Are we looking at a 2013 RM in August of 2012ish?  That would be pretty cool.   JMHO

Like I posted elsewhere. Kinda interesting they can't just put new VIN's on them and actually say they are 2012s.  I didn't think they had to put BNG's on Yamaha's if they didn't want too.  It seems to me, a RM250 2008 model with 2012 VIN would be the way to go??? JMHO.

That quote is kinda messed up if you think about it.  A 2008 RM250 is as new as a 2012 YZ250.  Just sayin.

Go listen to the argument with Matthes, and he states Suzuki is bringing them back. Bought F'ng time.

Sounds like Honda didn't like the fact that he did good on the 2 stroke last year, so they upped the anti and bought him out.  We haven't seen that happen ever. I am pretty sure we even called it when he was winning SX's with the KTM 2 stroke, that he'd be paid to be on a 4 choker this year.

I'd really like to see the comparison of the factory 350SXF and the 250SX.  I think they spent a load of cash on a bike that is very similar from what I've heard and read from Shorty.

25
I don't feel like reading the whole thing today. But just thought I'd mention Honda\Acura tried the realm of high sports cars, and the NSX was considered a pretty big failure I think?

TeamGreen over at Vital posted some info on the KTM.  I'd bet a done up Yamaha still won't keep up hp wise. He posted that a pipe builder is running 55 hp out of a 2012 KTM 250SX.  That is impressive alone, but added that the bottom end can be made to have torque that compares to the 4 strokers.  I think some of you who have rode old KTM's are trying to compare that to a 06 or newer Yamaha.  It ain't the same bike :-)

Just my 2 cents worth.
Why are we argueing over pro rules.?
I dont think it matters.
If the amature rules allow 250 = 250 that is where the change will come.
If Johnny is getting beaten on his CRF250 by his mate on his YZ/SX 250 then maybe he will change to a YZ/SX and Honda looses another rider. Then we have 1 more smoker in the feild. Then another and so on.
It will take awhile same as it took awhile for 4 strokes to take over.
The guy that race's will buy what is best for them, not what Dungey is riding.
What needs to happen is for a manufactor to support amatures on smokers, which might not be in their best interest now but it must be soon.
Is it best to sell some low cost smokers which they dont make much money on parts, Or have warehouses full of high cost 4 srokes that they dont make ANY money on.Can't make money if you don't sell them.

PS If you want to help ,Help the manufactors that still put effort into smokers.
TM/HUSKY/KTM/HUSABERG/GAS GAS.
+1  But I really feel the biggest step is if a magazine ever does a full shootout.  Then it will be "check please waiter."

I'm gonna say Doug would maybe qualify. But he would get smoked by someone like Ryan Hughes. So, the question would be, where would Hughes be in the pack of 40.  I'm gonna say Top 20, maybe top 15, so Dr. D would probably be close to the tail end. JMHO.

Oh, that's cool. I was just worried. I know I'm getting some guys on here, that are kinda raggin on me about how harsh I'm being about proving my point.  I just don't like to be lied too, or agenda's that try to lean things in a way to skew the truth.  Thanks on the vital thingy too. Although I am about ready to point out there, that since they can't post about 450's, they don't seem to have any ammo left.  I'm still waiting for an answer from both those guys claiming more reliability.
