Ironically, Tomorrow he is being inducted in the hall of fame.

Ok, sitting here thinking.  We all need to start pushing magazines to run the 250 2 stroke in their yearly 250 shootout.  Tell them they are allowed in the "AMA" and remind them that back when 450's were just coming out, they were included in the 250 2 stroke shootout.  So now is the time the 250 2 strokes shouldn't get just a seperate, one off, shootout, but be included in the actual 250 shootout.  This will show the light to people who are shopping for a 250 and don't know which one is best.   Let's start emailing them.  Remind them also, that the purpose of the shootout is for the normal person, not pros. So it should be done, since they are allowed in the Amatuer level AMA racing.

General Two Stroke Talk / 350
« on: October 13, 2010, 07:28:54 AM »
So here's what I've been thinking, all written down by Chad Reed on his twitter: "About the 350 I only rode my lil cousins stock one so tough to say....loved the frame makes me really miss the good old steel frames alloy is a nightmare without goose and RD....overall thoughts are it's much closer to a lites bike than a 450 IMO. My aus CRF450 only has a PC pipe and comparing the 2 I would of bet the bank that I was on a 250F if I didn't know better...."

So here's what really should happen. The 450 isn't going anywhere, the 250F blows, so do this ProAMA>  150cc 2 stroke class.  250 2 stroke vs 350F, and then open class, run what you brung.  Then, make the sound level quiet.  Sounds too perfect or intelligent though. Will never happen.

Go answer this poster on JB19  tell him something. Tell him, he'd be saying it again wrong. Tell him most of Texas runs the ProAMA rules, not the amateur.  Tell him even offroad here in Texas, TORO I know for sure, runs the 125 vs 250F and 250 vs 450F rules.  I'm sure there is many many places who don't run AMA amateur rules, where they still run the old crappy rules. So to say 99.9% is an epic failure.  By the way, you probably wanna leave my name out of it. I was clicked off there for no "apparent" reason, but my name is dirt. Just talk the points.
"I'll say it again........99.9% of us who ride and race dirt bikes can ride or race a 2 stroke whenever we want.

The other .1% of the sport that it affects don't seem to mind that they are racing 4 strokes.

More choices and cool stuff to play on than ever before.......but lets all fight and bitch about it."

General Two Stroke Talk / DFW ride day...
« on: October 04, 2010, 01:59:21 PM »
Ok, guys, let's plan this for those of you that live close.  I'm getting the itch. I'll probably bring my 125 since I haven't ridden a 125 for 10 years or so, fast. I've putted, but I wanna try to do some ok 1 lap fast. LOL.  (Arm pump from not riding since March)
List location you live, and we can try to find a middle ground track.  If you want, I'm ok with Shady Grove even. I don't care, just wanna ride. I'm not fast enough anymore to care.  I think Oct 17th sounds good???  It give everyone time to setup plans and stuff. What do you guys think.

General Two Stroke Talk / Guyb what a funny guy. LOL

"I'm (regarding?) The boutique brands? There are reasons why they haven't made it here, whether it's quality, performance, dealer network, or customer preference. I'm not sure that building small (or large) two-strokes will make a difference to any of them.

In the meantime? Kudos to Yamaha and KTM for keeping the smaller two-strokes around."

Umm, when you can't race because of rules that aren't even written anywhere, like 400 units?  Has anyone ever seen this golden rule on paper?  Atleast some people have pics of the great Big Foot be them fake or whatever. In the pro rulebook of mine, it only states that the bike has to pass ProAMA's approval and the OEM has to apply for it.  Not anything about units produced etc.  It took calling out DC to get what number they came up with for the current season. Although they let the OEM's ship the bikes after they raced the season. LOL.  But the fact that bikes like the Aprilia 450F illegal to race in ProAMA, have nothing to do with why they aren't popular here. Nothing.  ;)

"I get all the arguments. I don't really have a problem with most of them except when people think that 250 two-strokes should race 250 four-strokes."
You know, because they are like 3 seconds a lap faster and all. Ha ha  How much faster is the 450F's per lap?  Those 250 2 strokes should be whipping all over the 450F's  8)

General Two Stroke Talk / Here's a 2 stroke question... Pipe/turbo/blown
« on: September 16, 2010, 02:08:08 PM »
Got thinking about pipes because of a post on vital. So, if a 2 stroke was turbo'ed or blown, would the pipe need the return pressure that we all know works on 2 strokes? Or could you run a straight pipe, since you wouldn't need back pressure or would you still need back pressure? Pretty sure some of you tech guys will know this...

General Two Stroke Talk / My new 2 stroke hero! Mike Metzger

Here is his post on Facebook... Although it is about FMX, it still get's more and more lower tier guys buying 2 strokes.  8)
"Two-strokes for life!!! Not one four stroke made the FMX qualifier at X games. Suck it twitch!"

It's just a matter of time before these guys are jumping 2strokes again. All the smart guys that tried freestyling fours switched back. A matter a fact... Levi Sherwood who got silver in FMX today made the switch awhile ago. Pretty smart kid. Congrats Levi!

You need to go drink another margarita and pray about getting over your delusional four stroke fix!

as we all know, the snowmobile industry have really started pushing new 2 strokes again.  http://cs.amsnow.com/snocs/forums/p/512/5343.aspx?PageIndex=2

General Two Stroke Talk / 2 stroke mafia meeting... 8)
« on: June 03, 2010, 12:55:19 PM »
A short anonymous call announces he is in the parking lot to meet.  We walked through a dark doorway made for Genghis Khan.  A tall man with glasses presents himself as the Jefe.  We shake hands and presented all associates.  The lady at the front walked us to our seats.  We sat down and began our meeting.  The topics right away brought like mindedness to the table.  We agreed on topic after topic. The Jefe talked about his group and their planned attack on the outdoor series.  We talked engines and talked conspiracy black helicopter sightings.  After the meeting, we exchanged mafia t shirts and went on our seperate ways. Knowing that a lifelong friendship had begun.   ;D

John and I went to Genghis Grill the other night and had a great time with wive's and kids.  We both had 6 year old girls and they had a blast.  Thanks John, hope to meet up again soon. Chad

General Two Stroke Talk / I wonder????
« on: May 18, 2010, 09:41:52 AM »
Just got done watching the RV video, max's video etc.  I wonder if the big 4 even think about the fact that almost everyone that rides a 2 stroke, gets off and talks about how much fun they are?  I mean, isn't this sport about fun?  It is just suppose to be about speed etc?  It is sad to me to hear people like RV talking about how fun it's gonna be to ride a 250 2 stroke. It's sad, because it's taking away what our sport is about.  I mean, think about this. What other sport in the world, can you go walk into a race one day as a local fastest guy with  a pro lic and race with the best in the world?  Football, baseball, nascar, indy etc. Just try to walk into the locker room and say, hey, I think I'm gonna play today.  This sport is about grass roots. Atleast it was. Now it's becoming a business.  It's so sad how our world has changed over time. I was thinking about that this morning. How kids could have a play friend who no one see's. Parents will tell the kid to grow up and don't believe in stuff that isn't real.  It's all just so sad if you look at the world and see what good things there are, and sometimes they get ruined by greed, power and money.

I just want you guys to know, it is now the joke of the industry. So please follow my lead and start pushing 150cc and 300cc for the Pro's.  The 250 vs 250 is now the joke when brought up, no longer is it an actual question to see if it will pass. So when you are told it is being asked, you are being dupped.  Again, start talking about 150cc vs 250F's and 300cc vs 450F's.  It is our only chance to see 2 strokes in the US pro ranks.  Thanks
