forgot his name but this big brute rolled this bad boy up to the starting line. He was pretty talkative considering he was so big his helmet fit as tight as Rik Smits does.

Merry Xmas ho ho ho..

I finally uploaded my pictures from the 2009 Unadilla National MX 2 stroke race they had in August. They made the 2 strokes run in a special "exhibition" type of 4 lap thing because they didn't want guys on $50,000 4 strokes getting stuffed by some guy on a $6000 2 stroke with $3000 worth of suspension work and an aftermarket pipe.

I figured it was time to start a photo thead on this cool website so here are some shots of the Jammer, Laporte, Kessler, Mike Leavitt, and all the rest of the supporting cast and characters. There are even a few of our host John.

2 strokes rule.

thanks John just what I need another distraction to spend hours with on the internet..

I clicked on the link and scrolled down and saw the article on the CanAm 250GP.

I remember when Pat Moroney rode one for a season and at the end it basically ended up sitting outside of Moroneys shop as a worn out and rusting throw away. I think Can Am "wanted the bike back" as he was riding it locally before he went pro and though he wasn't "sponsored" by CanAm the bike was "free". The GP's are fairly rare these days and I also remember owning a 250MX1 and the MX2 and GP outdating me not once but twice within a year after my purchase. Pat really hauled ass on the 250GP and took on and dusted all comers back in the day.

thanks John and sorry for the delay in the response.

I've got a few pictures here, or maybe a little more than a few.

Still have to upload the pics from the 2009 2 stroke race at Unadilla, not that I have a lot but a few anyway.

Here they be.

hey this is easy. So there it is my, or one just like my 250MX1, not to be confused with the MX2 or the GP. Nothing like getting outdated twice in 12 months..

Gotta love those CanAms. I could wheelie that bike for as long as I had room, just shift a few times and keep on trucking on the old back wheel. I can't wheelie my KLR 5 feet, but the Jammer and Brad Lackey did sign the gas tank at Mid Ohio for me so thats been a comfort.

Hey guys check out this nice Maico I bought at Mid Ohio in 2007. All original.  :-*

I like it so much I keep it inside!

now lets see if I can figure out how to post a picture.

General Two Stroke Talk / nachtflugs signature 2 stroke motocross thread
« on: November 29, 2009, 04:42:09 PM »
Greetings and happy tidings from Nachtflug.

Surfing Marks Vintage Swapmeet today and saw a SWEET 1975 Can Am 250 MX1 just likethe one I used to have so I thought now was as good a time as any to start a thread here. I've been shooting MX photography in the Hudson Valley for over 2 years now and I'm still amazed at the changes in my almost 30 years away from the sport. We were at Unadilla in 72, or was it 71, when they black flagger Arne Kring and they said he was pretty mad when he found out, having ridden the wheels of his Husky. Made it to the big U every year for 10 years and this year was my first year back in 29 years, where I also met our host John Nicholas.

So I'll just post all my 2 stroke ramblings here.

Does anyone have any interest in a 2008 Yamaha WR250R? Its kind of gutless.. ;D
