The problem is it's a Yamaha...I work on outboards and i never had a 2-stroke Yamaha fail on me, yet.
1998 Unadilla 125 MX Moto 1Great find, looks mint. If your looking for a cool video of a 125 specilist , that is having a on day. Watch 98 Unadilla 125 1st moto Ithink. Robby Renard runs everyone down, including RC, then pulls away and makes it look easy. One of the best 125 rides of all time.
Do you have a link??
Anyways... That 125 is mint! Wish I had a bike like that!
The power valve setup on the 01 is better. The newer motor is quirky but can be made to run strong. But honestly if you're not in a position to take advantage of the slight chassis difference there's no reason to upgrade. I'd definitely just stick with what you have and ride. Invest in getting the correct springs for your weight and keep the bike fresh.Indeed, it wil be more of an upgrade then buying a bike with an updated chassis. The difference of the frame update is hardly (or not at all) noticeable for an amateur rider. A suspension upgrade on the other hand is very wel noticeable and wil make u feel more comfortable on it, thus resulting in faster (and safer!) riding.
Yep, buddy of mine took his kxf250 out for a spin down a gravel road. Cruisin around 40 mph when all of a sudden. BOOOOM!!! Rod came out the front of the motor. His bro connection yielded $1659 for parts alone. Another $800 or so in labor. So he's given up on the koolaid and is putting a 250 two stroke motor in that chassis. It's an 09 I believe... The best thing is he just had a new top end put in it before this ride.Someone really screwed that rebuilld up then. Engines can always blow but they do blow for a reason!
