Technical / 3 Piece bar clamps

My one piece clamps turned into 3 piece after going over the bars in the whoops section yesterday, happened on lap one of a 15 min + 1 lap race, and I finished the race and got back up to my best finish of the day! But the bars were held with the left side of the clamp only, the right side has split where it clamps the bar, could have ended much worse than it did, all i did was chomp on my tounge really hard when I landed on my head. Bike is a 2011 rm250

...But when I went to the start line with my go pro i was made to take it off, for health and safety reasons?! Has anyone else been told this? It really annoyed me, ive not long had the camera and only used it on my race bike once
