For Sale / 2005 CR250
« on: December 14, 2012, 02:19:22 PM »
My son is selling his 2005 CR250.

$3,000 or best offer.

Very clean especially for its year. A well maintained, solid bike all around with minor mods. Bike has brand new plastics all around, brand new grips, brand new Boyseen reeds and fresh spark plug. Chain and sprockets are still good, tires are good as well. Piston doesnt have much time on it due to pursuing my career as well as new hobbies, it was rebuilt in spring of 2012. Pulled pipe to check cylinder and piston, cross hatch in cylinder is great and the piston still looks awesome. All clutch parts were also replaced on bike at the time of the new top end. Bike has been great to me. Honestly the most reliable bike I've ever owned.

Mods include:

-Pro Circuit pipe
 -Shorty Pro Circuit silencer
 -Brand new Boyseen power reeds
 -Ported cylinder
 -Wiseco coated pro light piston
-Red RG3 20mm offset triple tree with steering stem
 -Excel A60 rims/Excel spokes
 -Black powder coated hubs
-Braking Wave rotors front and rear
-Steel braided lines front and rear
-Minor valve mods to supension sprung for aprx.150lb rider. Will include heavier springs.

PM for more info. Located in Plainfield IL

The kids rippen, sounds crisp too. I know a  expert rider that has a couple cr250,s  his dad  said with the rad valve  the cr250 comes out of corners  stronger than the vforce  reed cage. I put a rad valve on my 06 cr125, nice improvement over the stock cage, low to mid is better, I  took it  apart and polished the inside smooth, then  put the rad valve on,good stuff.

Good input, thanks

I put together a google map of all of the dirt bike places to ride in Illinois that I could find. The link to the map is below. I suggest that you get the exact address and directions from the track website. Google maps makes some mistakes.

Thanks. He was on a Honda CRF250 until late last year. The four stroke was nice to ride but, as everyone on this site knows, costs too much to make it competitive. All the fast guys had thousands in motorwork to make it faster. The 05 CR250 with a pipe keeps up to the big $$ mod 250F's with no problem.

Whats the best way to reduce the handlebar buzz on an 05 CR250? I have seen a number of solutions but I would like to know what people have had the best luck with.
