I think you should buy newer CRF suspension, put it on and keep it.

I thought about doing something similar to that but I would want a nicer bike to do that to. This one shows a little too much age for me.

How much can you get for a restored '96? If you don't mind me asking. I was thinking of starting to do the same, but I don't want to work my a$$ off and only make $100 on the bike all together flipping it  :-X

Oh it's fine but I'm probably going to make somewhere around $400 to $500. It's really easy if you do all the work your self and only fix the parts that need it. I highly recommend it, it's as fun as riding the bikes to me.

I picked this bike up back in November for $250 and I wish I would have taken before pictures because it was bad. So far I have replaced the levers, complete gasket kit, flywheel, crank bearings, right side crank case, water pump gear, and a couple of washers in the tranny. I spent hours cleaning all of the plastics which were in terrible shape. Hopefully I'm going to bring the motor back to life tomorrow. Also the pipe looked like crap, had rust spots everywhere and there was about an inch of gunk where it goes into the exhaust port but it cleaned up half way decent. Tell me what you think.
