the cable is good.The clutch pushes out. But when it does it disengages it does unevenly. It seems like one side pushes out farther than the other.

It surges forward. Sorry I was under the impression That when you pull in the clutch lever you are engaging the clutch

I have not changed the springs yet and I used the fluid that the manual specified. Thanks for all of the advise. I'll try these ideas and keep you updated.

I have a 98 Honda cr125. I bought it as a basket case. After getting it running I tried to take it on a test drive but the clutch will not engage causing the bike to jerk forward as if I put it in gear without using the clutch. I have replaced the cable, clutch plates, friction plates, and even adjusted the cable and it still will not engage. Also I would pull in the clutch with the clutch cover off and it looks like one side of the clutch doesn't move as far as the other. Any thoughts?
