Technical / Is stroke an issue on 144 kits?

i have a 2008 ktm 125. the bike is super fast, but i have been thinking about boring out the cylinder for a 144 kit. i just didint know if i would be wasting my time without adding the 4mm to the stroke. any help or info would be awsome
