Are you sure you want to send this to Honda? They might throw it away. I wouldn't know how Kawasaki would react to this.

I wasnt saying to send this exact one to honda / kawasaki, this ones for the federations - but yes I certainly do think that I would like to send this type of thing en-mass to Honda and Kawasaki, they made some amazing 2 stroke bikes in their time (I own a KX 250) and I wish they would start making them again.

Even if they never do it can't hurt to keep the pressure up as part of a campaign to get our point across all the  manufacturers and motorcycle bodies and magazines alike. The key to having the best chance of getting what we want is to be pro-active and not to just give up because 'they might throw it away' - you never know til you tried and yes it's easy to say 'why bother' but I know that attitude wont get us off the starting blocks.

I agree!!!

Do you want to take a stab at a draft????  :D

Yes I will put something together and post it on here shortly when I'm done - I'm the sort of person who likes to get off my ass & get stuff moving lol

To balance the battle I still say one thing we could do is to get a letter drafted - and encourage people to print it off, sign it and send it to all the magazines / manufacturers and anyone else of relevance. Thats a good start to get our voice heard. We go to the effort of posting on here - lets go to the effort of posting to the people that matter in the fight to bring 2 strokes back to.

General Two Stroke Talk / Re: Vital mx poll
« on: December 14, 2009, 05:29:22 PM »
the problem with the poll is there should be an option to vote for the big bore class to be an 'open' class - meaning that any of these bikes could take part. thats what the UK big bore class is in the MCF pro championships runs like - and that best way in my opinion. they arnt even on the right page in vitalmx!

General Two Stroke Talk / Re: New KTM 350.. WHat you guys think about it?

I'd like to see the 500s come back and watch the Big Four scramble to make 850Fs.  That would make for some excellent entertainment.

haha LMAO yeah I bet they would to - they seem as desperate to see 2 strokes fail as we are to make them succeed

General Two Stroke Talk / KX250 yr 2000 Road Legal
« on: December 13, 2009, 12:37:24 PM »
Here's my pride and joy - it's a KX250 2000 year and its as good as new, I bought it off a guy who had it imported from Japan after it had been stuck in a crate for years. The funny thing was this guy was 65 and he had bought it as a retirement present for himself he must have been mad this bike is seriously fast!

That guy somehow got it road registered so I'm different to most people on the site cos I don't race - I just ride mine on the roads round London - I have a cool route I take every weekend that goes past Buckingham Palace / 10 downing Street / Soho / Covent Garden & Notting Hill and its such a blast ripping it up past the tourists. I was at the lights against a Honda CBR650 or something last week and I had my first 'drag race' - starting on tarmac you gotta fight to keep the front down but I beat the guy up to 50 / 60mph ish - at the next traffic lights I could see he was pretty shocked that a dirt bike could do that lol

Wish I could find another smoker to ride with out here but I've lived in London 5 years and I've never seen another 2 stroke motocross bike on the streets - it's a really unique ride. I recently gt a KTM 250 sx 2004 and it doesnt have the same poke as my KX so I'm selling it this week on ebay and keeping my KX..

Do you know what would be even cooler as well - get the guys at 2 stroke championship to put on a 'showcase' / bridging race event on in the USA. They have the heavy weight sponsors and contacts to acheive something like that - and they know its worked here, so why wouldnt it work in the states.. we are similar societies, these's no language barrier and we have the same type of racers wanting to compete.

I love that video!!!

Working with the promoter of the two stroke series in the UK... trying to get a few US guys to fly over to compete in the series.

Westyzkx - do you think the racers and the fans would like having Americans there? Or would they throw stones or something??

Yeah great idea! If its the MCF pro series I think they will get a great reaction, especially if you do a bit of press / background to say that they are coming over cos they want the chance to race in a pro 2 stroke series which isnt yet possible in the states.. plus it might whet the appetite of some of the riders and teams out in the US about what can be acheived independantly of the AMA / official race bodies. I think it would be cool to almost have a 'delegtion' of interested and relevant parties come over to review whats been going on.

I get the feeling from talking to the people at the MCF that they are a close knit bunch who are doing their bit for 2 strokes, and the fans are to. I bet you could get them some space in the race programs I know I would cheer them on! Let us all know how you get on with that sounds v interesting

This is wicked see how far his bike gets out ahead, I would think there will be a few more orders coming in for AJ Wagonner from UK with this type of performance going on -

Title - Service Honda CR500AF Holeshot at British 2 Stroke Championship 15 March 2009 - guy in yellow kit.

General Two Stroke Talk / Re: What is your idea of a good rule change?
« on: December 13, 2009, 06:17:23 AM »
Hey, I was thinking, maybe, we need to chuck all of these ideas out the window soon, think about electric bikes coming into play soon, i mean we have three companies coming with promising bikes, we have KTM(very creative company, should be interesting to see what happens), we have zero motorcycles(making 10 more ft/lbs of torque than a crf 450) and Quantya swiss electric dirt bikes

Electric bikes ..lol I want a bike with feelings and sound... not for me.

Yeah I agree

great! glad its got the 250 twostrokes in it i wouldnt have bought it otherwise, the mx vs atv game looks cool the only gripe I had with the untamed one was the clutch button - I think they could have made more of it - like when you press the clutch it never really reacted or sounded like what happens on a real bike.. mind you the 4 strokes sounded so stupid n that game like lawnmowers which was v funny. thanks for the video post 2smoker  :)

I agree with you John, if all Amateur racing adopts these rules it's the next logical step for it to move to the pro's. This is because there will be proof that it works and is a viable way to move the sport forward.

In fact I'd say this 2010 rule is a massive step forward and also a vindication of the efforts, beliefs and stories you have been highlighting on the website for the past few years. It shows we were right - Great news!!!
