Looks like an ohlins unit to me

Be rest assured its not an ohlins, Lesley and I are chasing round Europe at the moment, I don't want to mention any particular country as it may give a few more clues away.I know everyone is desperate to see the bikes but their are other factors within the industry that are contributing to our timing of the release.

You won't be disappointed

As I am sure you can appreciate we are as enthusiastic to get the 2011 M.M.X. out into the public domain as you guys are.We have a verbal arrangement with the U.K.'s leading off road publictaion to provide them with excluisve pictures of the new bikes and we are planning our timing of the release of these pictures very carefully.

There are quite a few things we can mention but some we cannot, more news will be published very soon.

How soon before we see them at a dealer's location? I know there is a lot of hoops to jump through, and red tape to unwind, but inquiring minds would like to know when they will be available...

Thanks for the interest,it has been a very long and drawn out process and their is nobody dragging their heels on this one, it simply takes the time it takes for the American Government to do what they have to do.Its a three part process which has already been apporoved, we have official confirmation from the U.S.A. department that our distributor has been accepted but their are still two more parts to the process which are proceding.

Hope you guys get on the Direct Injection someday soon.

Hi,
This is something we are keeping a close eye on,and we would certainly not exclude it from the future plans.

7
Sounds good to me.  Any idea what the F1 engine option would cost, or is that classified at this time?

Sorry jetz cannot release that information at this time, rest assured when we can, we will.

F1 factory engine, eh?  I hope that doesn't mean the new Maico will have a 24,000 RPM four-stroke in it.  :P

Most definetly not.All we can say at the moment is that the factory engines will produce more horsepower and be lighter than the production motor. All the parts used in the factroy engine will fit the production model and be a permanantly available aftermarket purchase.

As a new era dawns in the life of Maico, rigorous testing has been carried out on a wide selection of hand made products already hotly tipped to make it onto the spec sheet for the 2011 M.M.X.http://dirtywheelsmedia.co.uk/interactive/index.php?topic=131.0

General Two Stroke Talk / A year in the life of.....................

As the wheels on the media wagon appear to be gathering a relentless momentum, we would like take this opportunity to thank all those who have given their time, experience, and on many occasions sense of humour! to assist us in developing and producing the 2011 M.M.X.

With thanks to Toby Opferman for the production here's a taste of this year's work with a small insight and a few subtle clues into the potential of the bike that we hope many will enjoy, and no doubt some, will hate.

General Two Stroke Talk / Four Stroke is two too many for Maico.
« on: August 03, 2010, 11:16:55 AM »
With the global disparity that is continually displayed in favour of the four stroke when it comes to engine displacement in racing terms, manufacturers of the new Maico M.M.X., Maico International are proud to wear their two stroke heart on their sleeve and confirm that "at no point will we ever consider producing a four stroke engine".

Co owner Vincent Page commented " Maico is a two stroke company full stop"

Hey offroader I just wanted to tell ya that Maico no longer makes the 380cc bikes..... :)

Hi Maicoman009,
Now here's a dilema for us...... do I let the cat out of the bag by being honest with people who may ultimatley buy our bikes? or do I skirt round the situation with some candid tongue in cheek answer...... or ignore the question totally like so many other manufacturers would do.?..... well this may be a bad call in P.R. terms but hey, the 380 is coming back! we have it under development/production at the moment and it should feature in the new line up :o
380! Now that would be a hoot to ride! Are there Aussie dealers?

Hi Scotty dog,
In discussions with a Company at the moment.

When the 2010 model broke cover back in January this year it was a few weeks after the dust had settled before the news hit, that despite its rather old fashioned style frame, the 250 weighed in at one kilo lighter than this years ally adorned Yamaha Y.Z. 250 two stroke.

With some major advances already made in more areas than the manufacturers are prepared to divulge just yet!, the 2011 Maico is all set to shed up to another three kilos bringing the anticipated weight of the 250 to around the one hundred kilo mark with the new 500 following in its shadow at a shade over the magic ton and the mighty 700 expected to roll in at one hundred and three kilos.
